The Resident Season 4, May 18, 2021 Episode 14 Is The Finale. Season 5 Is Happening
Hey, “The Resident” fans. We are back on here for another Tuesday night article. In this one, we’ve got some bad news and some really, really good news for you guys. We’re, of course, going to start off with the bad news so we can sooth you with the good news later on.
Ok, so the bad news is that tonight’s episode 14 was indeed the very last episode for this current season 4 of The Resident. We think that filming complications associated with the terrible pandemic is the main culprit for the much shorter season this year. Whatever the case, tonight’s episode 14 was indeed it for this current season 4. So, you guys are going to have to wait around for a while before you get another new episode of The Resident.
The Good news is that you will get to see a new episode of The Resident at some point in the future because we can officially tell you that FOX did give The Resident a new season 5 renewal order. That’s right,guys. Your favorite FOX, medical drama is returning with another new set of episodes for the 2021/2022 season.
Currently, it is unknown whether or not things are back to normal enough to allow the cast to film a full season again. We’ll have to wait until later on this Summer to get that information. According to the folks over at TV Line, we can confirm that the new season 5 of The Resident will debut this Fall 2021.
They also mentioned that Morris Chestnut’s character Barrett Cain will be demoted from a series regular to a recurring character because Morris ran off and got cast as the lead in a new, FOX family drama called, “Our Kind Of People.”
As for the numbers, The Resident season 4 averaged 3.549 million LIVE viewers per episode and a 0.56 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics. The most recent episode 13, which aired last Monday night, May 11, 2021, drew in 3.096 million LIVE viewers and a 0.48 ratings score.
The most-viewed episode was episode 1 with 3.920 million LIVE viewers. The least-watched episode is episode 13 with 3.096 million LIVE viewers.
The highest-rated episode is the premiere episode 1 with a 0.65 ratings score. The lowest-rated episodes are episodes 11 and 13. They both tied for last place with a 0.48 ratings score. Those numbers were obviously good enough for FOX to renew the show for a new season 5. So, again, that is terrific news.
