The Bachelorette July 12, 2021 Eliminated Connor B, Hunter, Trey, James & Aaron (Recap)
Hey, Bachelor Nation fans. Tonight, July 12, 2021, another new episode of The Bachelorette 2021 edition with headliner Katie Thurston did indeed air and some more unlucky men were sent packing.
Tonight’s episode kicked off with Katie talking with Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe about how wonderful she thinks her remaining guys are. Katie came up with an idea to test the men. She wanted to see how long the men can refrain from masturbating. I know. It was very strange, but this is what went down. She told Kaitlyn and Tayshia she’s heard stories about how the men take care of themselves so to speak. So, she came up with this challenge.
Later, Kaitlyn went and presented this challenge to the guys. It was titled the Wo Wo challenge, which stood for a “week off” from masturbating.
After all of that, it was revealed that Justin got a 1 on 1 date card from Katie. So, they went on a 1 on 1 date. Katie took him to exchange pretend wedding vows in the woods. They even got dressed up like they were having a real wedding. Afterwards, they kissed. Katie told the private cams she was really happy with the ways things went on the first half of their date.
During the second half of their date, Justin told Katie, “You have a sense of comfort that makes it easy.” Katie said, “I had a really great time with you.” Katie told Justin that she gets emotional about weddings because her dad is no longer alive to give her away. Also, she found out her dad was not her biological father. Her mom kept it a secret.
Her biological father now wants to be in her life, and it’s hard because it just reminds her that she lost the father who actually raised her. Justin told Katie, “Thank you for sharing that with me. I want to know everything about you.” Katie gave Justin a rose, and they kissed. Then, they danced and kissed to a private concert to close out the date.
Next, Katie took Blake, Andrew S, Michael A, Greg, Aaron, Mike P, Brendan, James, Trey and Hunter on a group date. Katie took them to see a drag Queen modeling show with RuPaul’s Drag Race All-Stars winners Shea Coulee and Monet X Change.
Then the guys had to compete in a challenge called, “The Great Royal Debate.” It’s a battle of words that was supposed to feature the guys roasting each other about why they shouldn’t be with Katie. It didn’t exactly go as planned since the guys aren’t really good at roasting each other.
However, they did sort of all gang up on Hunter at one point. They pointed out that he already made a top 4 list of guys that he thinks Katie will pick. Hunter tried to deny it. Trey called him a liar. Katie told Shea Coulee and Monet X Change, “I was really surprised to see how many guys had a problem with Hunter.”
During the second half of the group date, Katie talked 1 on 1 with Andrew S. He complimented her on how great a kisser she is, and they ended up kissing. Katie talked with Greg. Katie told Greg, “You seem hesitant.” Greg said, “I’m falling for you, and it seems scary. How are you feeling about us? Katie said, “I’m falling for you. It’s exciting, and it’s scary.” Then they kissed.
Katie talked with Blake. Blake told Katie he was struggling with the Wo Wo, no masturbation for a week challenge. She told him the Wo Wo meant a week off. Apparently, Blake didn’t know what it meant. They found it humorous and kissed.
Katie talked with James. He told her that Hunter seems calculated and untrustworthy. Katie talked with Trey. Trey also warned her about Hunter. Aaron warned Katie about Hunter as well.
Then, Katie talked with Hunter. She talked to him about the concerns about being calculated. Hunter told Katie, “I’m not being calculated. I don’t know what else I can say to defend myself.” Katie said, “It’s just bad timing.” From there, Katie got very upset, and she eventually told the men that there will be no group date rose. She also cut the group date short. So, some of the guys didn’t get to spend any valuable time with her.
After all of that, we saw footage of Katie and Connor B’s 1 on 1 date. During it, Katie took Connor B on a double date with Kaitlyn Bristowe and her fiance Jason Tartick. They played a game of vollyball. Katie told the private cams, “I’m hoping to see if me and Connor B can have more of a romantic spark on this date.” At one point, Katie told Connor B, “I really like who you are as a man, and they kissed.”
During the second half, everything totally changed in a very bad way. Katie showed up to Connor B’s room crying. Katie told Connor B, “I really wanted to feel you were someone I could walk away with at the end of this. You’ve done nothing wrong. When we kissed, there was something missing. I’m so sorry.”
Connor B said, “It’s ok. It was worth it to have met you.” Katie said, “Thank you for everything. I only wish the best for you,” and they hugged. Katie told the private cams, “Saying goodbye to Connor was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. I hope he knows how worthy he is of finding love.”
Connor B told the private cams, “My god. How bad a kisser am I?” Connor B eventually said goodbye to the rest of the guys. They expressed that they were very shocked. They hugged him goodbye. The guys said, “This got so much more real and scary.”
After that, Blake showed up at Katie’s place to cheer her up by playing her a song from a jukebox outside her window. Katie really liked it, and they ended up kissing. Blake told Katie how Connor B came back and said goodbye.
Katie told Blake, “Your surprise was the greatest surprise ever,” and they kissed again. Katie told the private cams, “When I’m with Blake, I don’t think about anyone but he and I. I’m in trouble. With Blake, this is what I’m looking for.”
At the cocktail party, Katie showed up to tell the guys, “The cocktail party is canceled. I know what I want to do with the relationships I’ve formed moving forward. I will see you guys at the rose ceremony.”
During the rose ceremony, Katie pulled Hunter aside to get more clarity on what happened earlier during the group date. Hunter swore up and down to Katie that his feelings for her are very real and not calculated. Then, they went back to the rose ceremony.
From there, Katie gave roses to: Blake, Andrew S, Greg, Michael A, Mike P and Brendan. They joined Justin who received a rose earlier in this episode.
That means poor Hunter, Trey, James and Aaron did not receive a rose to join Connor B. So, they are the unlucky fellas that got eliminated in this episode.
