General Hospital June 16, 2022 Episode Got Delayed, Preempted
Hey, “General Hospital” fans. If you guys tuned into ABC earlier today, June 16, 2022, to catch the newest episode of General Hospital, we’re pretty sure that most of you were extremely disappointed to see that it was not on.
Apparently, more hearings took place for the events that happened on January 6, 2021 in regards to the former president of The United States Donald Trump. Today’s hearings discussed the accusations of Trump pressuring former Vice President Mike Pence to overturn the 2020 Presidential election.
All major networks: ABC, NBC and CBS provided LIVE coverage for these hearings right when the soap operas were supposed to air. So, today’s June 16, 2022 episode of General Hospital did indeed get preempted/delayed.
In light of this situation, we hit up the official Twitter page for General Hospital and ,surely enough, they put up a post regarding today’s preemption. They’re telling us that today’s delayed episode is scheduled to air tomorrow afternoon, Friday, June 17, 2022 in its usual 1 pm central standard time slot.
They wrote, “Due to ongoing breaking news coverage, today’s scheduled episode of General Hospital will air tomorrow. #GH” You guys can view that tweet on General Hospital’s official Twitter account by Clicking Here.
As usual, some upset fans replied to General Hospital’s tweet to express their frustrations. Teresa b

Virginia Williams@Vee1059 wrote,”I find this unacceptable. I watch 1 hour of TV during the day and it gets interrupted for things that should be on the NEWS. I am not a happy camper. I wish GH had its own channel that the damn news people couldn’t cut into. What ever happened to soap net?” Twitter Link.
Amanda@KansasPhoto wrote, “Why does@ABC think we are too stupid to find a news channel or website?! I don’t want news! I want my 1 hour of escapism! #GH” Twitter Link.
John Walter Seip@johnwalterseip revealed that he thinks the preemptions will continue since there are more hearings scheduled. He wrote, “So Thursdays Episode airs Friday. Friday’s episode will air Monday. Tuesday there is another hearing at 1pm EST. So Monday’s episode , The Genie Francis centered episode will not air until Wednesday June 22, 2022 #GH.” Twitter Link.
Again, today’s delayed episode is currently scheduled to air tomorrow, Friday, June 17, 2022 at approximately 1 pm central standard time on ABC if it’s not preempted again.

Thank you for letting me know about today’s show of General Hospital. We watch every day, and we were disappointed that it wasn’t on today. I’m glad or I hope we’ll get to see today’s tomorrow (Friday). I hope it won’t be preempted. What they showed today should be aired on a NEWS station and not on regular programming. Thanks again. It’s our favorite soap and right after lunch we sit and relax to watch it. We will check on what you write about these hearings or about the show being preempted. The government needs to butt out controlling what we are able to watch. The Democrats want to force us to watch their garbage! Give us back the freedom to watch what we chose to watch. Not what we are forced. Everyone turn off your T.v. when they do this crap and don’t watch their lies!!!!
I too am sick of GH constantly being preempted by non breaking news. Show a banner to direct people who want to watch the “news” to your website. I can guarantee that NO ONE watching GH will go there, especially when news is available a few hours later. Life sucks enough with corona virus, Ukraine, Trump, economy, etc. Let us have our 1 hour of escapism ABC aholes.
Gotta love it. GH is life sustaining, visceral, needed and loved. I can still hear my mom groaning, “OHHHHH!!” when the ending credits roll after the last scene (no commercial back then). I used to run home from school at lunchbreak to watch for 30 min, never exercised but could run a 5min mile, 38 yrs ago. Guess no vcr then.
