Big Brother August 18, 2022 Evicted Indy Santos. New HOHs & Twist Revealed (Recap)

Hey, fellow “Big Brother” fans. Tonight, August 18, 2022, another LIVE eviction episode for Big Brother season 24 did indeed air. However, this one was a 2-hour long episode that featured another new twist at the end.

Tonight’s LIVE eviction episode kicked off with footage of what happened in the house after Kyle won the POV (Power Of Veto) competition. Michael told Kyle, “I think Taylor is thinking about targeting Alyssa.” Michael told the Diary room aka the private cams, “I wanna see Alyssa stay in the game because Kyle and Alyssa’s showmance could be a bigger target than me moving forward.”

Kyle was upset that he was left out of all the conversations where his Leftovers alliance’s main target was switched up. Monte and Joseph kept trying to sell the idea to Kyle that this could be the best time to get rid of Alyssa because of what she did to Taylor during the veto comp.

Kyle told the private cams, “I think Monte and Joseph just want to take out Alyssa to weaken my game. Joseph, Monte and Taylor are raising a lot of red flags for me. It feels like this is a move against me.”

Joseph told Taylor and Michael that Kyle doesn’t like the idea of getting Alyssa out. The Leftovers tried to convince Kyle to use the veto so they can put up Alyssa. Kyle told them it’s better for him not to use the veto, and there’s no reason for Alyssa to go.

Surely enough at the POV ceremony, Kyle decided not to use the veto and keep Terrance and Indy on the chopping block. During Kyle’s speech, he said to Terrance and Indy, “At this point, it doesn’t make sense for my game to take either of you off the block.”

Taylor yelled at Kyle in the storage room, “You were supposed to use the veto!” Later, Taylor told the private cams that her yelling Kyle was just an act. Indy told the private cams that she finally figured out Kyle may not really be apart of their fake 5 Swatters alliance since he didn’t use the veto to save her.

Kyle talked with Michael and Brittany about how Taylor, Monte, Joseph and Turner want Alyssa out, implying that they’re working together, which means Kyle, Michael and Brittany are on the bottom of the totem pole of the Leftovers alliance.

Michael told the private cams, “I’m going to try and get Taylor, Monte, Joseph and Turner to turn on each other at some point by planting some seeds.”

At one point, Kyle was seen trying to imply to Michael and Brittany that Taylor, Monte, Joseph, Jasmine and Terrance might be forming an alliance similar to the Cookout alliance last year. Michael and Brit said they’re not going to just assume that any alliance is based on race this season.

Next, we got footage of Kyle and Alyssa getting much closer. Alyssa told him, “I want to be your girlfriend,” and he said ok. Then, they kissed.

Michael told the Leftovers he didn’t want to send Indy out on a unanimous vote, and he wants to give her a sympathy vote. Michael told the private cams, “I want to give Indy a sympathy vote because it’ll look good for me when she goes to the jury house. Taylor told the private cams, “I’m tired of all these sympathy votes for Indy because it could force me to break a tie, and I don’t like that.”

After all that, the eviction nominees Indy and Terrance gave their plea speeches. Then, the rest of the houseguests casts their votes to evict

Monte, Joseph, Jasmine, Alyssa, Brittany, Turner and Kyle all voted to evict Indy. Michael voted to evict Terrance. So, by another landslide vote of 7-1, Indy did indeed get evicted from the Big Brother season 24 house tonight. She gave everyone a hug on the way out.

Then, Indy gave her exit interview with host Julie Chen-Moonves. Indy told Julie, “I was surprised by the vote. I felt really fine about my game. I thought I had people around me I could trust. This voting shows I may have chosen the wrong people to have around me. I believe Taylor had other priorities, and it wasn’t her intention to send me home. I blame Kyle for my eviction because he didn’t save me from the block with the veto. I think Kyle had other alliances he was involved in.

It’s really frustrating to know that my 5 Swatters alliance didn’t back me. This game is really tough for me because of all the lying and manipulation that goes on.”

Indy also got to hear some goodbye messages from the houseguests. Michael revealed to Indy the Leftovers alliance in his goodbye message. Indy commented on it saying, “I knew it, but I didn’t want to believe my intuition.”

Next, Julie told the rest of the houseguests about the new, crazy twist that production has come up with. It’s called, “Split House.” In this twist, two games will be played separately and simultaneously this week.

There will be two HOHs (Head Of Households). Each HOH will have 4 houseguests. One HOH will be living in the house, and the other one will be living in the backyard all week long. These two houses will have no contact with each other. Each HOH will nominate two of their 4 people for eviction. A POV (Power Of Veto) comp will be played for the two houses, and a separate eviction will occur for the two houses next Thursday night in a LIVE, double eviction episode!

After that explanation of the twist, the houseguests competed in the HOH competition. The winner became the new HOH for inside the house. The runner up became the new HOH for the backyard. This HOH comp was a mental one. Michael ended up winning it, and Terrance was the runner up. So, Michael became the new HOH inside the house, and Terrance will be the HOH for the backyard.

Julie explained that each HOH will pick which 4 houseguests they’re going to take, but they didn’t show the picks on the LIVE show. So, we’re going to have to wait later on to see who the HOHs picked to be their 4 houseguests.

We’ll be letting you guys know the picks tomorrow when we run the nomination ceremony report to reveal who’s up for eviction. So, be on the lookout for it. How do you guys feel about Indy getting evicted tonight, and Michael and Terrance winning the two HOHs for this “split house” crazy twist? Let us know in the comments section.

The next, new Big Brother season 24 episode is scheduled to air this Sunday night, August 21, 2022 at approximately 7 pm central standard time on CBS.
