Hey,”60 Minutes” fans. Happy Sunday. We hope your weekend is going well. We are back on here, right now, to let you guys know that CBS will indeed serve up another brand new episode of their hit news show 60 Minutes tonight, February 12, 2023, and we’ve got an official preview for it. Tonight’s episode is the 21st episode of 60 Minutes’ current season 55.

Please Note that tonight’s new episode will feature previously aired segments that have been updated for this particular episode.

The folks over at CBS were so very nice enough to put out an official press release for this new episode 21. So, we’re going to tell you exactly what it has to say right now. Let’s get into it. First thing’s first. CBS let us know that tonight’s new, February 12, 2023 installment does have an official title attached to it. It’s called, “REVISITING THE PAST.”

The first description for tonight’s new episode reveals that the 60 Minutes crew will do a segment on Canada’s unmarked graves. In this segment, the 60 Minutes team will talk about how archaeologists discovered what they believe to be 200 graves that have been unmarked at an old school located in Canada.

American broadcast journalist and political commentator Anderson Cooper will do a report on Canada’s residential school system. Apparently, this school has 150,000 indigenous children that were sent to it after being forced from their communities!

CBS’ official description for this Canada’s Unmarked Graves segment reads like this, “In 2021, when archaeologists detected what they believed to be 200 unmarked graves at an old school in Canada, it brought new attention to one of the most shameful chapters of that nation’s history.

Anderson Cooper reports on Canada’s residential school system, where more than 150,000 indigenous children were sent after being forcibly removed from their communities. Michael H. Gavshon and Nadim Roberts are the producers.”

The second and last description for tonight’s new, February 12, 2023 episode lets us know that the 60 Minutes team will do a segment titled, “Sharswood.” In this segment, American journalist Lesley Stahl is going to pay Fred Miller and his family a visit at their large house located in southern Virginia.

Apparently, the Miller family have recently discovered that their big house used to be a property where their own ancestors were enslaved at! A genealogist they hired discovered that their great-great grandparents Violet and David Miller were slaves on the home’s plantation, which was called Sharswood. They will also take a look at an old building located behind the main house, which used to be the living quarters for some of the enslaved men and women.

CBS’ description for this Sharswood segment reads like this, “Lesley Stahl visits Fred Miller and his family in the large house in southern Virginia that they bought to host family gatherings, only to discover that their own ancestors had once been enslaved on that very property. Miller’s sister and cousins scoured historical records and enlisted a genealogist, who found evidence that their great-great-grandparents, Violet and David Miller, were enslaved on the plantation, then called Sharswood.

The dilapidated building still standing behind the main house has been identified by archeologists as living quarters for some of the enslaved men and women on the plantation. Buying this home opened a window into the Miller family’s past that they had never discussed, and that many African American families struggle to obtain. This is a double-length segment. Shari Finkelstein is the producer.”

The editor also put in a note saying that these are previously broadcast segments that have been updated for this episode. Again, 60 Minutes will be a brand new episode tonight, February 12, 2023, and it will hit the air at approximately 6 pm central standard time on CBS.
