New 60 Minutes April 9, 2023 Episode Preview Revealed
Hey, “60 Minutes” fans. We are back on here ,today, to let you guys know that you will indeed get another new round of 60 Minutes tonight, April 9, 2023. That’s right, guys. The people over at CBS are going to deliver the 29th episode of 60 Minutes’ current season 55 tonight, and we’ve got some preview information for it.
We were able to get an official press release from CBS for tonight’s new April 9, 2023 episode. So, we’re definitely going to use it as a source for this preview session. Let’s get into it.
The first description for tonight’s new, April 9, 2023 episode reveals that the 60 Minutes team is going to do a segment titled, “THE ORIGIN OF EVERYTHING.” American journalist Scott Pelley is going to take a deep look into the images that have been captured by NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope.
It’s the world’s most powerful telescope, and apparently, it’s been discovering some distant galaxies. One of them is actually 33 billion light years away! This discovery could actually change the belief of how the universe was actually formed.
CBS’ official description for “The Origin Of Everything” segment reads like this, “Scott Pelley explores images captured by NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope, the world’s most powerful space telescope. Speaking with astrophysicists and astronomers, Pelley reports on the telescope’s discoveries of distant galaxies, including one that’s over 33 billion light years away, and an observation that, if confirmed, could upend the belief on how the universe formed and more. Pelley visited Webb in 2021 before its historic launch into orbit, 25 years in the making. Aaron Weisz is the producer.”
The second description reveals that the 60 Minutes team will do a segment titled, “SPORTSWASHING.” In this Sportswashing segment, correspondent/journalist Jon Wertheim is going to travel to Saudi Arabia to report on an activity that the Saudi Arabian leaders have been accused of doing called, “sportswashing.” It involves the leaders using entertainment to distract its citizens from real problems that have formed.
CBS’ description for this “Sportswashing” segment reads like this, “In the days of the Roman Coliseum they called it “bread and circuses” – leaders using entertainment to distract citizens from genuine problems. Today, Saudi Arabia is accused of using the same tactic with a different name: “sportswashing.” Is the Kingdom diversifying its economy, as they insist, or covering up human rights abuses and political repression? Correspondent Jon Wertheim traveled to Saudi Arabia to find out. Michael Gavshon is the producer.”
The 3rd and final description for this new, April 9, 2023 episode lets us know that the 60 Minutes team will do a segment titled, “THE RESURRECTION OF NOTRE DAME.”
In the “Resurrection of Notre Dame” segment, American journalist Bill Whitaker is going to show up in Paris, France to see the resurrection of the Cathedral Of Notre Dame, which was almost destroyed by fire 4 years ago. Bill is going to actually climb to the very top of the cathedral to talk with the cathedral’s chief architect about the amazing attention to detail that was needed to restore the cathedral.
CBS’ description for this “Resurrection Of Notre Dame” segment reads like this,”Four years after the Cathedral of Notre Dame was nearly destroyed by fire, Bill Whitaker returns to Paris to witness the resurrection of the medieval structure and powerful symbol of France. Whitaker climbs to the top of the cathedral and speaks with its chief architect on the incredible attention to detail needed to restore the historic monument. Rome Hartman is the producer.”
CBS’ press release confirmed that 60 Minutes is brand new again tonight, April 9, 2023, and it’s going to hit the air at approximately 6 pm central standard time.
