Survivor March 5 Voted Off Kevin Leung In A Major Blindside (Recap)

Survivor March 5 Voted Off Kevin Leung In A Major Blindside (Recap)

Earlier tonight, CBS served up another new episode of Survivor’s current season 48, and we saw another unlucky contestant get voted off in a major blind side event at the end of it.

Tonight’s new episode kicked off with footage of the Vula tribe talking about how their tribal council meeting played out, which sent Stephanie packing.

Sai told Mary, “I have no hard feelings about you writing my name down.” Sai told the private cams, “I don’t think I’ll ever trust Mary. I just wanted her to think that.” Mary’s head is on a chopping block if we go back to tribal council.”

Mary told the private cams, “I don’t believe Sai is ok with me writing her name down at the last tribal council.”

At the Lagi camp, Star went searching for a hidden immunity idol, and she found a beware advantage. It revealed that she had to decipher a code on a canister to unlock it, open it up and retrieve the idol. She lost her vote at the next tribal council until she was able to get her idol. She needed help deciphering the code. So, she told Joe about it.

Star allowed Joe to pull Shauhin in to help them out. Shauhin told the private cams, “I could use this information to sabotage Star.”

Star also told Bianca and Thomas about her beware advantage, and she told them, “I’m on your side.” Thomas told the private cams, “We’re going to chop Star’s head off at tribal council.” Thomas told Shauhin to lose Star’s idol. Shauhin told the private cams,”I don’t want to do that to Star this early in the game.”

Star told Joe that she wanted to get Eva out. Joe told the private cams that he didn’t want to betray Eva. So, he told Eva all about how Star wants to get her out. Not surprisingly, Eva was very grateful to Joe for telling her. Eva told the private cams, “Joe is my number one in this game.”

At Vula, Kevin was campaigning to Cedrek and Justin that they should target Sai to flush out her idol.

After all of that, a note was delivered to all three tribes, informing them that it was time for one of them to take a special boat ride, and the way they were going to decide who goes is by sticking their fingers out by the count of three. Then, whoever stuck out the lowest unique number of fingers took the boat ride.

Thomas went for the Lagi tribe. Mitch went for Civa, and Mary went for Vula. Sai was ticked off that Mary got to go for their Vula tribe, thinking that Mary could get an advantage and thwart her plans.

At the boat trip, Thomas, Mitch and Mary competed for an advantage. The comp was a tile puzzle that they had to complete in a certain amount of time. Mitch and Thomas completed in the allotted amount of time, and they won a “block a vote from another player” advantage at the next tribal council. Mary did not complete the challenge. So, she lost her vote at next tribal council.

Mary told her tribe that she did lose her vote. Thomas told his tribe that he didn’t win the advantage. Mitch told his tribe that he won an advantage to block a vote, and everyone seemed happy for him.

However, David told the private cams, “I like Mitch, but I don’t trust him.” David went looking for a hidden immunity idol along with a couple of other people, and Kyle found the beware advantage. It featured the same code as the other beware advantages. He asked Kamilla to help him unlock it, and she did figure out the code to unlock it. Kyle told the private cams, “I’m so happy to be working with Kamilla.”

Next, host Jeff Probst showed up with the new immunity challenge. During it, they had to race to retrieve buoys. Then, shoot five of them into a basket for the win. Civa won immunity in first place. Lagi won it in second place. That means Vula lost again. So, they had to go back to tribal council to vote someone else off.

This immunity challenge also doubled as a reward challenge. Civa won a massive fishing kit for finishing in first place, and Lagi won a smaller fishing kit for finishing in second place.

Sai told the private cams that she definitely wants to vote off Mary at the tribal council meeting. “Mary doesn’t have a vote. This is the time to pounce,” she said.

At Vula, Cedrek told the tribe, “I take most of the responsibility for the loss.” Kevin told Cedrek,”It has to be Sai because she has an idol.” Kevin told the private cams, “Sai is the most dangerous player in this game besides me.”

Cedrek told the private cams, “I have a problem with getting Sai out. I don’t trust Mary.” Cedrek told Sai, “You need to play your idol tonight.” He told her all about Kevin’s plan to target her. Sai said, “I’m cool with that. I’ll take care of Kevin later.”

Justin told Cedrek that he actually wants to get Kevin out saying, “I feel like if we don’t, he will eventually come for us.” Also, Sai kept telling the private cams that she really wants to go after Kevin.

At the Vula tribal council meeting, they just did some general game talk before casting their votes. Sai played her immunity idol before the votes were read. So, any votes against her did not count.

Sai got 1 vote (didn’t count), and Kevin got 2 votes. So, with the 2 votes, Kevin did get voted off. He said “Bye, guys” on the way out.

Kevin told the private cams, “You can call that a blindside. I thought I was in control of the game, and that was not the case. It was not the outcome I wanted, but I tried my best.”
