Nation’s Dumbest September 16 Eliminated Hilaria Baldwin. Season 1 Winner Revealed (Recap)

Earlier tonight, FOX aired the finale episode of the Nation’s Dumbest current season 1, and we finally found out who was proclaimed the dumbest celebrity of this season by the time it was over.

Tonight’s episode kicked off with the two finalists, Hilaria Baldwin and Chase Hudson getting hit with the logic test challenge. It required them to correctly move certain types of stuffed animals/objects across a bridge in 3 minutes. The carrot had to be moved first. The wolf second, and the rabbit last. If they didn’t do it in this order, they could not complete the test.

The logic was that the rabbit could not be left alone with the carrot because the rabbit would eat the carrot, and the wolf could not be left alone with the rabbit because the wolf would eat the rabbit. Hilaria passed it for a star, and Chase passed it for a star.

In the next challenge, Hilaria and Chase had to correctly answer trivia questions while wearing a hat with an inflatable balloon attached to it. For every question they got right, the balloon would stop inflating for a bit, but not for long. The person whose balloon popped first, lost a star. Chase lost a star, and Hilaria won a star.

Next, they did a head-to-head trivia challenge with a Chess clock attached. This one consisted of two rounds. Whoever won a round, won a star. Whoever lost a round, lost a star. Chase won both rounds to win two stars, and Hilaria lost two stars.

The next challenge was a giant, life-sized puzzle where they had to clear out surrounding vehicles to free a bus for the win. They also had to correctly answer questions to be allowed to continue moving the vehicles out of the way.

Whoever cleared the bus in the quickest time, won a star. Hilaria did it in 6 minutes and 29 seconds. Chase cleared it in 5 minutes and 52 seconds. So, Chase won that round to keep his three stars. Meanwhile, Hilaria was clinging to her one and only star.

There was a segment where both Chase and Hilaria got nice, encouraging messages from their fellow castmates who left earlier. After that, it was time for the final exam. Chase went into it with a full 3 stars while Hilaria only had 1 star.

However, there was a twist. They were both given an extra three stars to work with. Each question they got wrong, they lost a star. The first one to lose all their stars, lost. Hilaria was able to use those extra three stars to her advantage, and she graduated with two stars to spare.

However, that means poor Chase lost again and was crowned the Nation’s Dumbest. Chase told the private cams, “My greatest fear in life is being perceived as dumb. Throughout this contest, I learned to see things in a new light. I got to have a lot of fun, make great friends, and I got the most screen time. I’m gonna keep my head held high. I will not let this title define me.”
