According to CBS, they are officially scheduled to finally deliver up the very first, premiere episode 1 of Fire Country’s new season 5 tonight, October 9, 2026, and it will feature a major catastrophe involving a very dangerous sinkhole debacle and more!
According to CBS’ official episode 1 press release info, the writers decided to go with the name, “Founders’ Day” as an official title for this one.
This episode will feature new scenes from the Station 42 team, a mysterious ex firefighter and more. The spoiler intel we were able to round up from CBS’ episode synopsis is telling us that this new season will kick off with the citizens of Edgewater throwing a big celebration for their annual Founders’ Day festival event.
However, the celebrating will quickly end because an absolutely crazy sinkhole is going to just open right up beneath Main Street and trap everybody underground! In response to this extreme catastrophe, the Station 42 team will be seen, racing against time to try and save these poor people!
A final spoiler scoop for this new episode 1 is letting us know that a mysterious, former firefighter will make an arrival over in Edgewater at some point. Who will this mystery ex-firefighter turn out to be, and what is he or she’s agenda? Those are some very important questions for this new character and plotline. Episode 1 was written by Eric Guggenheim, and it was directed by Ruben Garcia.
Again, CBS’ press release confirmed that the very first, premiere episode 1 of Fire Country’s new season 5 is scheduled to make its debut tonight, October 9, 2026 in the 8 pm central standard time slot.
