New FBI International Season 5 Is Not Happening. CBS Canceled It
According to Deadline.com, and their sources, CBS has indeed canceled FBI: International. So, it will not get a new season 5. Tonight’s episode 22 is the last one forever.
CBS also ditched the other FBI spinoff FBI: Most Wanted. So, if you were a fan of that one, that’s double bad news for you.
Deadline is telling us that CBS is actually looking to possibly order a new FBI spinoff series titled, FBI: CIA, and that has actually been the reason for them cancelling FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted. They needed to make room for it. It was believed that they would only cancel one of the FBI spinoffs, but they went ahead and canceled both of them.
The FBI: CIA spinoff is reportedly set to air as an episode of the mothership series, FBI. It’s currently casting with a couple od actors in negotiations. It’s reported that it’s highly likely to get a straight-to-series order based on the talent attached to it.
According to the LIVE Nielsen ratings, FBI: International season 4 brought in an average of 4.739 million LIVE viewers per episode along with a 0.31 ratings score. So, it still performed quite well for CBS. Deadline mentioned there might be a possibility that it gets shopped around for a new home, but I wouldn’t hold my breathe on that.
