HBO’s Hacks New Season 6 Is Not Happening. The Creators Ended It

Today, HBO Max released the 10th episode of Hacks’ current season 5, and it was the finale episode. So, we did a little digging around to see if there is a possibility of a new season 6, and we did find out that there is not a possibility of that happening.

According to out sources over at Justjared , season 5 is indeed the last season forever. The show was not ever canceled by HBO Max though.

We’re being told that the creators of the show: Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs and Jen Statsky were the ones who made the decision to end the show after season 5. In fact, this was their plan since the very beginning. They actually pitched the show to HBO as just a 5-season series.

They told various media outlets that it was always just going to be 5 seasons stating, “We’ve always been going toward that idea. It’s five seasons. This is what the last scene is. It is still the same. So, for us, it’s something we’ve been building toward for a long time. I really do hope people find the end of the season as satisfying as we do.”

Paul W. Downs who plays character Jimmy on the show also talked to the press about why the show is ending with season 5 stating,”We wanted to go out with a bang. We really wanted to make this a complete circle, and getting the chance to do that is really rare. So, we were very excited, and we feel very honored that we were able to tell the story the way we set out to do it.”

Again, Hacks is not getting a new season 6. The creators decided to end it with season 5. That is all we’ve got for this latest, “Hacks” TV show report, but definitely stay tuned for more.
