Euphoria New Season 4 Not Happening. It’s Canceled
Tonight, May 31, 2026, HBO is going to air the 8th episode of Euphoria’s current season 3, and it is the season finale episode. So, we did look to see if HBO renewed it for a new season 4 yet. Unfortunately, at this time, they have not according to the people over at Forbes and some other sources. Update: the show has been canceled.
However, they did stress upon something very significant by saying that HBO advertised the ending of season 3 as the “season” finale rather than the “series” finale.
That is a big deal because if they had called it the series finale, that would certainly indicate that HBO is ending the show for good. A season finale means they at the very, very least, they think there might be a possibility for a new season 4 at some point in the future if the stars and planets align just right.
Forbes also pointed out that despite Euphoria’s super long break between season 2 and the release of season 3, it did not hurt the viewership numbers at all. In fact, the viewership rose by 44 percent!
On the other hand, Forbes did point out a really significant reason why HBO wouldn’t be able to pull off a new season 4 even if the wanted to. That reason is that a lot of the show’s main stars are going to be extremely busy. Zendaya aka Rue is in a host of new, blockbuster movies as well as Sydney Sweeny aka Cassie.
Jacob Elordi aka Nate has been working his way around into the big movie mix, and he even recently landed an Oscar nomination for his role in Frankenstein.
With all that said, they did point out that despite their busy schedules, they did still make time to shoot season 3 back in February 2025. So, it’s still possible that they could do it again. They do think Zendaya aka Rue will be the most likely to not return if there was a new season 4.
Again, HBO has not officially renewed Euphoria for a new season 4 at this time. We’re still waiting for the official announcement.
