Brilliant Minds New Season 3 Is Not Happening. NBC Canceled It

Tonight, July 1, 2026, NBC aired the 20th episode of Brilliant Minds’ current season 2, and it was the finale episode. So, we did a search to see if they had renewed it for a new season 3.

Unfortunately, we have to tell you that is not the case. NBC did not renew the show. It has officially been canceled. So, tonight’s episode 20 was the last episode forever at least as far as NBC is concerned.

According to Deadline and their sources, the cancellation news took place back in early May 2026. In their report, they did say that Brilliant Minds was NBC’s lowest rated drama.

In another report from Deadline , the president of NBCUniversal’s President of Program Planning Strategy Jeff Bader did provide a statement as to why they canceled Brilliant Minds saying, “Honestly, we have a very, very tight schedule.

Because we have a lot of sports, for our entertainment time periods, we had to actually give up on some shows that we really love to make room to launch our future potential hits.”

Lisa Katz who is the President of Scripted Content for NBCUniversal Television and Streaming also commented on the cancellation of Brilliant Minds and why they brought it back for a Summer 2026 ending saying, “I think we shot this season and, again, similar to Stumble, creatively we love the show, and are really proud of the show, and I think that the fans deserve to see how the story ends.

It has a great, very satisfying ending. So we’d like to have the opportunity for the fans of the show, of which there are still many, to be able to see it and finish the story with the characters.”

Again, NBC has officially canceled Brilliant Minds after two seasons. That is all we’ve got for this latest, “Brilliant Minds” TV show report, but definitely stay tuned for more.
