Holmes On Homes Building A Legacy August 30 New Episode Not Airing. Season 2 Has Ended
According to our sources over at The Futon Critic , the the most recent episode of Holmes on Homes: Building a Legacy, which aired last Sunday night, August 23, 2026, was the finale episode for this current season 2 of the show.
So, HGTV is not going to air a new episode for it tonight, August 30, 2026, and for an indefinite period of time after that.
We’re also being told that the show’s future fate has yet to be determined as it has not currently received a new season 3 renewal order. So, we’re just going to have to wait and see how all that works out for now.
According to USTVDB and their sources, some past data shows that this show averaged between 400,000 and 600,000 viewers per episode for HGTV. If this past season 2 did the same numbers or similar, that’s not too bad for a cable show. We wouldn’t be surprised to see this show get renewed at some point in the future.
For now, we’re being told by HGTV that they plan to fill in that empty time slot with a repeat episode of “Love It Or List It” tonight. It will be the episode titled, “Take the Equity and Run.” It featured a couple with a starter house that started feeling quite cramped. The wife wanted out of the house. The husband wanted to renovate it.
After tonight, you guys will need to check your local listings to see what HGTV is going air in that empty time slot moving forward.
Again, the second season of Holmes on Homes: Building a Legacy did come to a close with last week’s episode. So, HGTV is not airing anymore new episodes of it for an indefinite period of time.
