Will Trent New Season 5 Is Happening. ABC Renewed It

Tonight, May 5, 2026, ABC aired the 18th episode of Will Trent’s current season 4, and it was indeed the finale episode. So, that begs the question: will this show continue on in a new season 5?

According to a recent report from the people over at Deadline.com , the answer is a very positive “yes.”

They’re telling us that back in early April 2026, ABC did come through with an official season 5 renewal offer for the Will Trent series. So, you guys can look forward to seeing more new episodes arrive at some point in the future.

Deadline.com went on to state that the renewal was very expected since Will Trent is one of ABC’s top scripted shows.

According to the LIVE Nielsen ratings, Well Trent season 4 managed to average 4.804 million LIVE viewers per episode, and a 0.30 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics. The most recent episode 17, which aired last Tuesday night, April 28, 2026, drew in 4.207 million LIVE viewers, and a 0.23 ratings score.

The most-viewed episode was episode 4 with 5.670 million LIVE viewers. The least-viewed episode was episode 17 with 4.207 million LIVE viewers.

The highest-rated episode was episode 2 with a 0.40 ratings score. The lowest-rated episode was episode 17 with a 0.23 ratings score.

Again, ABC has officially renewed Will Trent for a brand new season 5. Currently, no premiere date or episode count for the new season 5 have been revealed. We’ll have to give that important info at a later date when it becomes available from ABC.
