Furious New Season 2 Is Happening. Hulu Renewed It

Today, August 31, 2026, Hulu aired the 8th episode of Furious’ current, premiere season 1, and it is confirmed to be the season 1 finale episode. So, we did check to see if Hulu/Disney got around to renewing it for a brand new season 2. We’re happy to be able to inform you guys that they did indeed order a new season 2.

According to Deadline and their sources, Hulu actually put in their season 2 renewal order in early August 2026.

They’re telling us that this was early for Hulu/Disney to make that decision because they usually try to wait until they can get the data for the long-tail viewership. So, they must have really liked the initial response they got from the show’s debut. They mentioned that the viewership numbers had been growing each week. So, that’s definitely a positive.

They also mentioned that Furious broke into the Top 10 for original streaming shows. It got a 98 percent score from Rotten Tomatoes’ critics, and it’s not too hard on Disney’s budget. All of that is really good ingredients for a renewal.

There was no mention of an official release date or episode count for the new season 2. So, we’ll have to wait around a little while longer to get those very important details at some point in the future.

However, if we had to guess, we wouldn’t be surprised if the season 2 episode count is 8 episodes again. That’s how it usually works with these super short season streaming shows these days. It was great to see Emmy Rossum back in action in a leading role for this one. I personally hadn’t really seen her in anything since the “Shameless” show.
