Big Brother September 17 Evicted Barrett & Yash In LIVE Double Eviction Episode (Recap)

Earlier tonight, CBS aired another new, LIVE eviction episode for Big Brother’s current season 28, and not just one, but two unlucky houseguests got ousted from the house and sent to the jury by the time it was over.

Tonight’s new episode kicked off by showing footage of what happened in the house after the last POV ceremony that featured Drew using his veto to take himself off the eviction chopping block, and Yash nominating Taylor as a replacement nominee.

Yash told the Diary room aka the private cams, “Me and Drew made a deal where he can’t vote out Taylor.” Melody told the private cams, “I was hoping Drew might use the veto on me.” Taylor told the private cams, “I should be fine with the votes this week.”

Dee told the private cams, “The goal is to get Barrett or Melody out this week.” Barrett told the private cams, “I will need to use everything I’ve got to save myself this week.”

Drew told the private cams, “If Melody or Barrett don’t win the BB BlockBuster, they’re most likely going home.” Dee told the private cams, “I’ve got to cut Yash before final 4 even though I made a final four deal with him and Taylor.”

Dee and Devens told each other that they’ve got to get rid of either Drew or Yash next. Drew told the private cams that he’s considering going back on the deal he made with Yash to not put him up if he wins HOH.

At this point, they showed jury house footage with Angela joining La La aka La Trice. They watched footage of Angela’s exit week. After that, Barrett made a pitch to Devens for his vote, saying he would go after Yash and Drew and also do whatever Devens and Dee want. Devens told the private cams, “Barrett’s pitch does sound appealing.”

Melody tried to make some sort of pitch to Dee, but Dee told the private cams that she wasn’t really buying anything that Melody was trying to sell.

Drew told the private cams, “Melody needs to win something at some point or else I don’t see the use in keeping her around. She can’t help me get to the end of this game.”

Next, the eviction nominees: Melody, Taylor and Barrett competed in the BB Blockbuster competition for one last shot at safety. It was titled, “Crash Site Cover Up.” It required them to roll balls down a maze and land 5 balls in their zone in under 4 minutes for the win, or the player with the most balls landed in their zone after the 4 minutes, won. Melody was able to land all the 5 balls in under 4 minutes for the win to claim her safety.

So, Barrett and Taylor were given a few minutes to do some last minute campaigning before giving their final plea speeches. Then, the rest of the houseguests minus HOH Yash cast their votes to evict. Devens, Dee and Drew all voted to evict Barrett. Melody voted to evict Taylor. So, by a vote of 3-1, Barrett did get evicted from Big Brother house tonight.

Barrett gave his exit interview with host Julie Chen-Moonves. Barrett told Julie, “I love them all, but in a game sense, they all annoy me. I think Drew and the icons Dee and Devens voted to evict me. I don’t regret taking a shot at the icons. I didn’t want to say I rode the coat tails of them. I would take that shot all over again if I could.

In hindsight, I should’ve made more of an effort to secure that a Survivor icon left during my HOH. Drew is a complicated figure in the game. There were times where I wanted to keep him and get rid of him, particularly if he would have went up against Mallory the week she went out.

I think I definitely could’ve beat Drew in a final two. This game was definitely harder than I imagined. This was the time of my life. I lived out my dream. I think every super fan should try and do this.

Next, Julie told the rest of the houseguests that it’s double eviction night, and the BB Blockbuster twist is officially over. Only two houseguests will get nominated for eviction from here on out.

So, they all played for the next HOH. It was a quiz challenge, and Melody won it. Then, she nominated Dee and Devens for eviction. They quickly played the new POV competition. It was a physical comp that involved completing a puzzle. Devens won it.

Then, they did the POV ceremony. During it, Devens used his veto to take himself off the block. Then, Melody nominated Yash as a replacement nominee saying, “I’m sorry, Yash. I would’ve went home tonight.” Yash and Dee gave their final plea speeches.

Then, the rest of the houseguests cast their votes to evict. Taylor voted to evict Dee. Devens and Drew voted to evict Yash. So, by a vote of 2-1, Yash was evicted from Big Brother tonight.

Yash gave his exit interview with host Julie Chen-Moonves. He told Julie, “I think everything happens for a reason. The icons have a grip on Drew, but I’m also a threat. Drew was the swing vote, but he was never someone I could really trust. I don’t think he’s a good game player. He’s weaselly, and I don’t respect that, but he lasted longer than me. So, I can’t hate it that much.

I don’t regret taking the 5k bribe from Dee because I would’ve went home if I didn’t take it. I really appreciated having this opportunity. Devens and Dee are really good at what they do. I can’t be mad at it.”

To wrap up tonight’s episode, Julie talked with writer/movie director James Gunn because he’s going to be on the Big Brother Unlocked talk show tomorrow night.
