Adam Goldstein aka DJ AM Died, Drug Overdose Is Suspected
Adam Goldstein who is also known as DJ AM was found dead in New York City. He was 36 years old. Reports say that his body was found on the 7th floor of an apartment on Lafayette Street on Friday.
Access Hollywood reports that police believed that he died of a drug overdose. Also there was drug paraphenalia found at the scene,including a crack pipe. After not hearing from him for several days, friends of the dj went to check up on him,but could not get a response after knocking on his door,so they called the police.
Access Hollywood released a statement given to them by the NYPD which read, At around 5:24 PM local time, authorities responded to a call at 210 Lafayette Street, following a 911 call of a “possible unconscious male.
After arriving at the residence, the NYPD confirmed that authorities discovered a 36-year-old white male “unconscious and unresponsive.” Paramedics also arrived on the scene and declared the male dead on arrival. Foul play is not suspected at this time and a medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
They also reported that Dr. Drew Pinsky said pain medications most likely could have led him back to drugs. He stated, “It very slowly and subtly reawakens addiction.I’m not saying it was inappropriately prescribed, I’m saying he didn’t know the risks.”
