Sportscaster, George Michael dies at age 70 due to cancer. According to the Los Angeles Times, longtime sportscaster, George Michael died early this morning after a long two-year battle with cancer. He was 70 years old,and was most noted for his nationally syndicated TV program entitled, ” The George Michael Sports Machine.” It was a syndicated TV show that ran nationwide for 27 years. He was on TV for more than 25 years in Washington,and he was a sports anchor on NBC’s channel 4.
His producer, Matt Glassman said he was a pioneer. He stated, “George was a pioneer in sports broadcasting.He was a gifted interviewer, a master storyteller, and one of the hardest working journalists out there.”
