Golden Girls’ Rue McClanahan Died Today From A Massive Stroke
Golden Girls’ Rue McClanahan died today from a massive stroke. According to TMZ , 76 year old Rue McClanahan who played character Blanch Devereaux on the popular 80’s sitcom “Golden Girls,” died early this morning after suffering a massive stoke this past Monday. They say that Rue died at 1 am this morning at a hospital in New York.
Rue’s son,sister,and nephew were with her at the time of her passing. According to the New York Daily news,Rue’s famous “Golden Girls” co-star Betty White was very hurt to hear about the death of her friend. She stated, “Rue was a close and dear friend. I treasured our relationship. It hurts more than I ever thought it would, if that’s even possible.”
Rue was also a past breast cancer survivor,and had been in questionable health. She was recovering from bypass surgery,and previously suffered a minor stroke earlier this year.
