A General Hospital Main Star Is Leaving Temporarily
Happy Tuesday, “General Hospital” fans. Unfortunately, we have some bad news for you guys in this article. According to a new report from < a href="http://soapcentral.com/gh/news/2018/0417-leslie_charleson_patty_mccormack.php"target="blank"> soapcentral.com and other news outlets, Monica Quartermaine portrayer Leslie Charleson recently suffered a pretty bad leg injury while walking her dog. The injury is so bad that she actually has to step down from her General Hospital role temporarily!
The official General Hospital Twitter page ran a tweet about this back on April 17, 2018. They wrote, “@lesliecharleson’s beloved dog, Riley Rose, was a little too eager for her morning walk and tripped Leslie – injuring her leg. Shortly after that, General Hospital wished Leslie a quick recovery, and confirmed that she will be back as soon as she gets better. They tweeted, “She sends all her love and will be back as soon as she recovers. We wish her a speedy recovery and all the best. #GH55 (2/2)”
On April 18, 2018, Leslie hopped on her official Twitter account to thank all her fans for their well wishes and support, and she promised to get back on set as soon as she can. She wrote: “I’m overwhelmed by all your comments and well wishes since my fall. I’ll do my best to heal quickly because there’s nothing more I’d like to do than to get back on my horse and back in the Quartermaine living room! Soapcentral pointed out that the people over at Soap Opera Digest reported the General Hospital production team has already found a replacement for Leslie. She is going to be replaced by actress Patty McCormack. It’s expected that Patty will start appearing onscreen in about mid to late May 2018.
Patty McCormack has been in the acting game since the 1950’s. So,she has a very long resume. She’s appeared or had roles on shows like: Casablanca, As The World Turns, Mama, Studio 57,Wagon Train, Playhouse 90, Rawhide, The Doctors, The Farmer’s Daughter, The Wild Wild West, Barnaby Jones, The Manhunter, The Wide World Of Mystery,The Love Boat, Friends (1979 version), Fantasy Island, The Ropers, Dallas.
Romance Theatre, Magnum P.I., Hotel, Remington Steele,Partners In Crime, Mr.Sunshine, Boys Will Be Boys, The Law and Harry McGraw,Head Of The Class, Murder, She Wrote, The Flamingo Kid, Freddie’s Nightmares, Doogie Howser, M.D., Empty Nest, Baywatch, ER, Family Law, The D.A., Cold Case, NYPD Blue, Grey’s Anatomy, Entourage, Criminal Minds, The Sopranos, Private Practice, Citizen Jane, Desperate Housewives, Prime Suspect, Supernatural, Scandal, Hart Of Dixie, The Ranch and Chance.
Those are just a few productions she’s done. This lady has really worked her butt off through the years. So, we’re sure she’ll do a good job playing the role of Monica Quartermaine for however long she’s scheduled to do it.
