The Bachelor March 8, 2021 Eliminated Bri Springs (Recap)

Hey, Bachelor Nation fans. Tonight, March 8, 2021, another new episode of The Bachelor 2021 edition with headliner Matt James did indeed air, and another unlucky lady was indeed sent packing as Matt had to narrow down his choices to the final 2 ladies.

Tonight’s episode kicked off with Michelle telling the private cams, “I’m ready to tell Matt that I’m ready to spend the rest of my life with him.”

Bri told the private cams, “The fantasy suites are a really big deal.”
Rachael told the private cams, “I know it with every ounce of my being that Matt is the one I’m supposed to be with.”

Next, we saw host Chris Harrison show up to greet the final, three ladies. He told them that they need to use their time wisely on these overnight dates, and he gave them the first date card. Michelle ended up getting the first date.

Before Matt and Michelle went on their date, Matt had to clear up some unresolved issues that had to do with his biological father. Matt told the private cams, “Today’s a big day for me. I need to have a conversation with my dad. I have some questions I need answered to move forward. I feel like I’ve been hindered by these unanswered questions.”

Matt greeted his dad positively with a hand shake and a hug. After that, Matt started talking to his dad about their past. Apparently, Matt’s dad wasn’t around much for him when he was a child. Matt told his dad, “I had to guard my feelings because what I went through with you. You started other families when I needed you.”

At this point, Matt’s dad started to get defensive, and he tried to shift some of the blame on his mother and what not. Matt said, “I’m glad my mom had the courage to stand up for herself and leave you for cheating on her. I’m trying to have a real conversation with you. I don’t want to hear excuses. I want to have a relationship with you. In order for me to do that, I need you to know where I’m at.”

Matt’s father said, “I’m sorry I hurt you, son. You have some lessons to learn that you never learned from me. I want you to have a healthy relationship. Not like the one I went through.” Matt told his dad, “I forgive you. I’m not holding grudges. I just want us to move forward.” From there, they hugged. Matt’s father told him, “I’m proud of you.”

After Matt had his big conversation with his dad, they finally showed us he and Michelle’s 1 on 1 date footage. They greeted each other with a hug and kiss. He took her to have a Pennsylvania-inspired spa day in a cabin. They rubbed butter on each other. They kissed and poured milk on each other in a milk bath. They also did some stuff with some oatmeal. It was pretty messy, but they definitely had a good time.

Afterwards, they talked about the hometowns dates. Michelle told Matt, “I’m happy that you got to see where I’m from.” Matt told Michelle, “I was the most comfortable with your family than anyone else.” Eventually, they did some more kissing in this moment.

During the second half of their date, Matt and Michelle did some more talking over drinks. He talked with her about the conversation he had with his father.” Michelle told Matt, “Thank you for sharing that with me. I feel like you are my person, and just wanted you to know where I’m at.” Then they kissed again.

Matt gave Michelle the fantasy suite card. She accepted it. In the fantasy suite, Michelle told Matt, “I love you,” and they kissed. They kissed on the bed. Then the cameras cut out. They showed the morning after as they woke up together. Matt and Michelle were seen kissing some more. Matt told the private cams of Michelle, “Where we went ,last night, was incredible. The way we interact and connect with each other is special. She could be my wife.”

At one point, Rachael told the private cams, “My worst nightmare is Matt spending the night with someone else.”

Michelle told Bri and Rachael how her date went. They had a hard time with it as they got pretty emotional, especially Rachael because she was feeling very insecure.

Next, we saw Matt and Bri’s 1 on 1 date footage. He took her hiking in the woods. They started a fire and pitched a tent to do some camping. They talked about her hometowns date and how well it went. They also kissed some more. They seemed to have a really great time.

During the second half of their date, Bri told Matt, “If you got down on one knee ,tonight, I would say yes.” Matt told Bri about the conversation he had with his dad. He said, “It took that conversation to realize I’m not him ,and I’m my own man. I won’t make the same mistakes he made.”

Bri said, “I appreciate you telling me that.” She also talked Matt about how she grew to be the woman she is today. She said, “I still feel 100 percent ready to be engaged to you.” From there, they kissed. He gave Bri the fantasy suite card. Bri said, “I would personally love the uninterrupted time to be with you, talk with you and hang out with you.” Then they kissed and went into the bedroom.” The cams cut out at that point.

Matt and Bri woke up in bed, kissing. Bri told Matt, “Last night just confirms that I’m in love with you.” Matt told the private cams, “I can see a life with Bri after this. It’s not going to be easy sending someone home after all of this.”

Bri told Rachael and Michelle how her date went. Rachael seemed to be getting worse in dealing with the fact that Matt is dating other women. She teared up at one point. Rachael told the private cams, “I’m just scared he’s gonna hurt me.”

Finally, Matt and Rachael went on their 1 on 1 date. She greeted him with a big hug and told him, “I missed you so much.” Rachael told the private cams, “I’m worried his feelings may have changed throughout the week, and that he’s progressed further with someone else.”

During their date, Matt took Rachael to sculpt ceramics. Rachael told the private cams, “The thought of Matt getting intimate with any other woman is excruciating.”

Eventually, Rachael told Matt how she was feeling about the whole thing. She told Matt, “I’m worried that your feelings might have changed for me during the week. I understand that you have to do what you need to do to make sure you’re picking the right one. I didn’t want to start the date like this, but I just wanted to get it all out.”

Matt said, “No, I’m glad we’re doing this. When I’m with you, you’re all I’m thinking about. I only say things that I mean and feel. I’m falling in love with you.” Rachael smiled and said, “I’m falling in love with you.” Then they kissed. Rachael told the private cams, “I feel like I gained my confidence back after that conversation.” From there, they definitely had a much better time.

During the second half of their date, Rachael and Matt talked about their insecurities. Matt also told Rachael about the conversation he had with his dad. Rachael told Matt, “I think you are the man you are today in spite of your father. You learned from that experience of how not to be.

I don’t think you would ever abandon your family.” Matt said, “I appreciate that.” Rachael said, “If you had a ring in your pocket and pulled it out, I would say yes.” Matt told the private cams, “Rachael continues to blow me away. She’s incredible.” He and Rachael kissed. She, of course, agreed to go to the fantasy suite saying, “I want that time with you.” They kissed in the fantasy suite on the bed to fireworks going off. Then the cams cut out.

Next up, was the rose ceremony. Matt ended up giving a rose to Michelle. Then he gave one to Rachael, which left poor Bri with the realization that she was the one getting eliminated at this point. Matt walked Bri out to her exit car. He told her, “I’m sorry. It wasn’t something you did or anything. It’s just where my heart is leading me.”

Bri said, “I can’t be upset or angry, but I can be sad. That’s just how these things go. Not being able to see you again. That’s what makes it harder.” After that, Matt hugged Bri goodbye.” Bri told the private cams, “It’s really disappointing and sad that it wasn’t me.” She was teary-eyed in that moment.

And that was tonight’s show, guys. Michelle and Rachael are the final two women, and next week’s episode is the season finale!

The next, new episode of The Bachelor 2021 edition with Matt James is scheduled to air next Monday night, March 15, 2021 at approximately 7 pm central standard time on ABC. It’s going to be a 3-hour event featuring the “After The Final Rose” LIVE show in that last hour.
