New Station 19 Season 8 Not Happening. ABC Canceled It
Hey, “Station 19” fans. We hope you guys totally enjoyed episode 10 tonight, especially since it will,in fact, be the very last episode of Station 19 that you ‘ll ever see forever. That’s right, guys. We ,unfortunately, have to tell you that ABC isn’t bringing back Station 19 for a new season 8. It all ends here with season 7.
According to the folks over at Deadline.com , ABC decided to cancel this series way back on December 8, 2023. At that time, Craig Erwich who is the president of Disney Television Group had some nice words to say for the show stating, “For seven seasons Station 19 has been a highlight of the ABC lineup thanks to Shonda and Betsy’s incredible vision, beloved characters and compelling storytelling.
With Zoanne and Peter at the helm of the upcoming farewell season, we have so much to look forward to, most notably the celebration of the show’s milestone 100th episode.”
Deadline also mentioned that ABC made the early decision to cancel Station 19 in order to give the producers and writers enough time to plot out a good and proper ending for the show.
According to the LIVE Nielsen ratings, Station 19 season 7 averaged 2.405 million LIVE viewers per episode, and a 0.28 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics. The most recent episode 9, which aired last Thursday night, May 23, 2024, managed to pull in 2.395 million LIVE viewers, and a 0.20 ratings score.
The most-viewed episode was the premiere episode 1 with 2.794 million LIVE viewers. The least-viewed episode was episode 8 with 1.930 million LIVE viewers. The highest-rated episode was the premiere episode 1 with a 0.37 ratings score. The lowest-rated episode was episode 9 with a 0.20 ratings score. RIP (Rest In Peace) Station 19.
