Tonight’s new episode kicked off with the top 20 contestants learning that they had to complete a Mystery Box challenge. The winner of it won immunity for themselves and their entire team. During this mystery box challenge, they were given 60 minutes to create a dish from their childhood and take it to an elevated level.

During this challenge, Becca revealed she is making a short ribs dish. Murt told Joe and Aaron he was making a chicken dish. Kimberly from the Gen X group mentioned that she was making a Sloppy Joe’s dish.

Rebecca told Gordon she was making a meatloaf dish. Adam told Joe and Aaron he was making a fried peach pie dish. Daniela told Gordon that she’s making a smoke stuffed cabbage roll dish. At one point, Fatima ran into some problems with her plantains dish. She said she overcooked it and would have to start all over again.

Kamay told Aaron and Joe she was making a crispy chicken dish. Christopher “Geags” told Gordon he was making a Shepherd’s pie dish. When the 60 minutes ran out, the judges walked around and tasted all the dishes. Then, they picked out the top four dishes.

The first one belonged to Kamay Crispy. She presented a Crispy Chicken Thigh dish. Gordon said. It’s browned beautifully. Good job. It’s cooked great. Definitely elevated.” Aaron said, “You could’ve done more with the rice.” Joe said, “It is amazing. It’s magical. Good job.”

Adam presented a fried peach pie dish. Gordon said, “It looks delicious. The flavors are delicious. It’s cooked beautifully.” Aaron said, “I loved that you didn’t overcook the peaches.” Joe said, “It’s delicious.”

Next, the judges revealed that the three worst dishes belonged to Murt, Si and Daniella. Murt was up first with his Chicken Mango Curry dish. Gordon said, “It drowned. The chicken is cooked correctly. It was delicious. The rice needs more seasoning.” Joe said, “It taste like spicey baby food. It’s not what we’re looking for.”

Si presented a Vietmanese Sweet & Sour Soup. Gordon said, “It looks strange and weird.” Aaron said ,”It’s very strange and not good.” Gordon said, “It’s slightly overcooked and rubbery.” Joe said, “It taste like dish water. You ruined this dish. Sorry.”

Daniela presented a stuffed cabbage roll dish. Joe said, “The cabbage is the opposite of what it should be.” Aaron said, “It’s hard to get over that cabbage.” Gordon said, “It’s failing on multiple levels.”

After all of that, the judges decided that Si had the worst dish. So, he was sadly eliminated. Gordon told him, “Unfortunately, your dish was difficult to eat.” Si told the private cams, “It’s sad because I thought I had more to show and prove. I was a little too ambitious.”
