The Bachelorette August 12, 2024 Eliminated Sam M, Grant & Spencer (Recap)
Hey, Bachelor Nation fans. Tonight, August 12, 2024, another new episode of The Bachelor 2024 edition hit the air, and we saw another couple of men get the axe by the time this episode wrapped up.
Tonight’s new episode kicked off with former Bachelorette headliner Charity Lawson showing up to talk with Jenn for a little bit. They talked about Jenn’s final guys, and Charity gave her some advice.
Next, we saw footage of Jenn taking Marcus out on a 1 on 1 date. Jenn gave him a letterman jacket to wear before their date. They greeted each other with a hug and kiss. Then, host Jesse Palmer gave them tickets to Wicked. Then, they took a walk down a yellow brick road and met up with Bachelor Nation alums Kelsey and Daisy. Kelsey and Daisy sent them on a path that had them doing different things like eating, pillow-fighting and some other fun stuff.
After that, they ran into Charity. She gave them wands, and they used them to burst balloons that had messages in them. One of them was a picture of Marcus with his sister. He also got a video message from his sister. They teared up and hugged after hearing it. Jenn got a letter from her mother.
Next, they ran into Trista. She directed them to go ride on a hot air balloon to wrap up this first half of their date. They kissed during it. Jenn told the private cams, “I hope I can progress things with Marcus. I think I might be further along than he is.”
On the second half of Jenn and Marcus’ date, they talked. Marcus told Jenn, “I did not come from a perfect family. I was actually born into a rough situation. My parents were very unstable and left me and my sister at a daycare center and never came back. I had to look after my sister in the foster care system. That experience made me feel like something was wrong with me.”
Jenn said, “There’s nothing wrong with you.” Jenn told the private cams, “Marcus’ story made me understand why Marcus was holding back. I get it.” Jenn told Marcus,”Your story shows me how incredible you are to overcome all of that.” She gave him a rose, and they hugged and kissed to fireworks going off. Jenn told the private cams, “This is the love story I always wanted.” Marcus told the private cams, “I feel like the luckiest person alive that Jenn will meet my family.”
Next, Jenn took Spencer, Jonathon, Sam, Devin and Grant on a group date. Jenn took them to a radio show. Bachelor alums Jason and Molly were there. They told Jenn their story of how they met on the show. Then, the guys came in and had to answer some rapid fire questions.
At one point, the radio hosts gave Sam M and Jenn more alone time because they thought they needed to get to know each other better due to Sam’s bad job at answering questions. Jenn told the private cams, “Sam’s not really answering any of my questions. I’m frustrated.” Finally, he just kissed her to avoid answering questions. Jenn told the private cams, “I need to know if Sam M understands me at all.”
At the afterparty, Jenn talked with Grant. He told her, “I respect the way you carry yourself” and some other very nice things that Jenn liked. Then, they kissed. Jenn told the private cams, “I love to hear that Grant’s words of love are coming from a real place.”
Jenn talked with Jonathon. He told her, “You make me so happy” and some other wonderful things, and they kissed. Jenn told the private cams that she liked what Jonathon had to say. Jenn talked with Spencer. She told him, “You’ve given me more than any of my previous relationships have,” and they kissed.
Jenn talked with Devin. He told her, “I feel so strongly about you, who you are and how you make me feel.” Jenn said, “I feel so seen by you, and I feel like you really get me. I’m falling for you.” Then, they hugged and kissed.
Jenn talked with Sam M. Jenn asked him, “Why me?” He had a lot of trouble answering. He finally told her,”because I love you.” Jenn told the private cams, “Where is this coming from? I don’t feel like it’s real.” She told Sam, “I don’t feel like we even know each other. I’m confused. We need more time to get on the same page,” and they hugged. Jenn told the private cams, “I felt so confused about Sam.” Jenn didn’t hand out a rose at this group date, but she also didn’t get rid of anyone yet. She let Sam linger in his thoughts to give it one more shot later on.
But first, Jenn had a 1 on 1 date with Jeremy to go on. They went to a flower place, and he got her some flowers. They went to get a reading from a psychic or something. They went to a fish shop. Then, they talked. They told each other how comfortable they make each other feel, and they eventually kissed. Jenn told the private cams, “I need to feel more confident in our emotional connection.”
During the second half of their date, they talked. Jeremy told her, “I feel close to you after today. You make me smile and laugh. I’ve always looked for someone who is as caring as my mother.” From there, they went on to talk about their religion. He’s Jewish. She’s Buddhist. They both told each other they’re open to learning each other’s religions and cultures.
Jenn told the private cams, “I believe Jeremy and I can get deep.” Jenn gave Jeremy a rose, and they kissed. Jeremy told the private cams, “I do see a future with Jenn. I couldn’t be happier.” Jenn told the private cams, “I’m excited to meet Jeremy’s family. He really surprised me. He has what I’ve been looking for and what I know I deserve.”
At this point, Jenn circled back around to see if Sam M could come up with some answers that would satisfy the lack of emotional connection they have. He tried to explain to her why he loves her. Jenn said, “I just don’t believe you.” Then, he tried to tell her, “You’ll see the love when you see my friends and family.” That didn’t resonate with her either. Jenn kept telling the private cams, “I’m so confused when he talks.”
She asked him,”What did you learn about me during our 1 on 1?” All he could say is that I love you. He also started saying things that made him sound like he was reading from a script or something. None of it really answered her questions.
Jenn walked off and told the private cams, “Sam is not really answering any of my questions. I don’t know what to do.” Finally, Jenn went back and told Sam, “I really wanted things to work for us, but we have this disconnect. I don’t feel like you want to really get to know me or understand me. The way that this is reminds me of a bad, past relationship. I’m done with it.” She hugged him and walked him off to go to his exit.
Sam told the private cams, “That’s frustrating. Her energy was very dull, and that’s not my fault.” Jenn told the private cams, “The relationship with Sam was just mainly physical. He didn’t really know me. I don’t want Sam. I’ve been there and done that.”
This episode capped with a rose ceremony. During it, Jenn gave Devin and Jonathon a rose to join Marcus and Jeremy who received roses earlier in this episode. That unfortunately means poor Grant and Spencer did not get a rose and joined Sam M who got booted off earlier in this episode. So, Marcus, Jeremy, Devin and Jonathon are Jenn’s final 4 guys for the hometown dates.
