New Dateline NBC February 14 Episode Features A Child Killer’s Attempt To Get Parole
NBC is scheduled to air another new episode of Dateline NBC tonight, February 14, 2025. This new episode will be the 15th one for the show’s current season 33, and it will feature an update on a child murderer’s attempt to get parole and more.
NBC put out an official press release for this new episode 15. So, we will give you all the details it contains in this preview session.
First off, there is an official title for this new episode 15. It’s called, “Return to the Lake.” In this new episode, the Dateline NBC team is going to take a deep look at a story about a South Carolina woman named Susan Smith.
30 years ago, she confessed to drowning her two small sons. Now, she’s trying to get out of prison on parole. Her ex-husband definitely doesn’t think that’s a good idea. So, he’s arguing that she should stay in prison.
NBC News’ Craig Melvin handled the reporting duties for this episode and case. This episode features interviews with: Susan Smith’s defense attorney, David’s current wife, and the Chief of SLED, as well as rarely heard interrogation audio of Susan from the initial investigation.
NBC’s official description for this new episode 15 of Dateline NBC season 33 reads like this, “Decades after Susan Smith confessed to drowning her two small sons in South Carolina, she advocates for parole. Her ex-husband speaks out, arguing that Susan should remain behind bars for the notorious murder of their children.
The two-hour Dateline, entitled Return to the Lake, provides an exclusive inside look at the case that riveted the country, through in-depth interviews with Susan Smith’s defense attorney, David’s current wife, and the Chief of SLED, as well as rarely heard interrogation audio of Susan from the initial investigation. Friday’s broadcast is a continuation of Dateline’s decades-long reporting on Smith, who recently was denied parole in November.”

Again, NBC’s press release confirmed that another new episode of Dateline NBC’s current season 33 is scheduled to hit the air tonight, February 14, 2025 in the 8 pm central standard time slot. It will be a 2-hour event. So, expect it to wrap up at 10 pm central standard time.
