New Celebrity Big Brother Season 2 Premiere Date Finally Revealed By CBS
Happy Tuesday, fellow “Big Brother” fans. We’ve got some super great news for you guys today. The time has finally arrived for some new details for the upcoming second season of Celebrity Big Brother! According to the folks over at Entertainment Weekly, CBS has finally revealed the premiere date for the new season.
With no further ado, the brand new season 2 is officially scheduled to begin on Monday night, January 21, 2019. Be sure to mark that very important date down on your TV schedules right now. CBS has yet to reveal all the days and time slots that season 2 will air on, but we’ll definitely keep an eye out for it. However, they did reveal that it’s only going to last for three weeks again just like season one did. The two-hour season finale of Celebrity Big Brother is scheduled to air on Wednesday night, February 13, 2019.
In addition to the Celebrity Big Brother season 2 announcement, CBS confirmed another very important fact. They confirmed that our beloved host Julie Chen will indeed be returning to continue her hosting duties for the show. There was never any doubt in our minds that she would be back especially after TMZ sources confirmed it a couple months ago.
There was a lot of chatter about Julie possibly quitting her job as host of Big Brother after all the issues with her husband Les Moonves and CBS took place over this past summer. It did cause her to decide to quit her hosting gig with the popular CBS daytime talk show “The Talk.” The problem that arose with that situation was that it talks about issues that could’ve possibly involved her husband’s problems with CBS. So, she decided that conflict of interest would not work out.
Fortunately with Big Brother, that is not the case. Julie’s entire job is just to show up and host the show. So, that is simple enough. Entertainment Weekly pointed out that Julie Chen is now using her married name. So now, all the articles are referring to her as Julie Chen-Moonves. For those of you who don’t know, Les Moonves used to be the chairman of CBS, but got ousted back in September 2018 over some very serious, sexual harassment allegations.
When Julie quit “The Talk” on September 18, 2018, she left the following message to her co-hosts: “I have been at “The Talk” since the day it started nine years ago, and the cast, crew and staff have become family to me over the years. But, right now, I need to spend more time at home with my husband and our young son. So, I’ve decided to leave The Talk. I want to thank everyone at the show for the wonderful years together. I will always cherish the memories we shared. Most important, I want to thank you the viewers for allowing me into your home everyday. It was a privilege that I will be forever grateful for.
To everyone behind the scenes, I send you my love. I will miss you all very, very much. To Eve, you’re the newest member of the table, but I feel like I’ve known you forever. You are even more beautiful inside than you are on the outside if that’s even possible because you know I think you are flawless.
Cheryl, thank you for being the perfect go-to partner for the last seven years. I open. You close, and you always bring down the house. We call ourselves the bookends, remember? And we always laughed when we said it to each other. Your wit and timing and humor and compassion and intelligence is simply unparalleled. You are incredible.
Carrie Ann, I don’t know. But in my opinion, you look awfully good sitting in that chair my Asian sister. I’m just saying. And finally, to Sarah and Sharon. We’ve been together since day one at “The Talk.” I’ve spent everyday with you both. I will always treasure our friendship with great parenting advice from both of you and the memories and laughs. And all the private jokes that the three of us have shared.
We are the original Three Musketeers. I love you all, and I know this show and the sisterhood it stands for will live on for many, many more years to come. You ladies got this, and I could not be more proud to call you my friends. I love you.”
Currently, we assume that Julie will also host the upcoming 21st season of regular Big Brother. We still haven’t seen any official or rumored reports for who the new Celebrity Big Brother season 2 cast will be. Hopefully, we’ll start seeing something new very soon.
