New Pokemon Go Legendary Latias Raid Event Is Happening Right Now For A Limited Time

Happy Friday, Pokemon Go fans. We’ve got another brand new Pokemon Go event to tell you about, and it’s taking place right this very second so listen up! The Pokemongolive.com site recently revealed that they have launched a new Latias Raid Event for a limited time.

The event actually started today, February 22, 2019 at 1 pm Pacific standard time, and it’s scheduled to last until next Friday, March 1, 2019. The event will officially end at approximately 1 pm Pacific Standard time on March 1, 2019.

Pokemongolive.com described this new event like this, “The Legendary Pokémon Latias will be joining Raid Battles! If you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny Latias!”

So, if any of you guys have been looking to encounter Latias, now is your chance to do so. The folks over at Gamespot.com, provided a couple more details about the Latias Pokemon. It made its first appearance in Pokemon Go last May 2018 along with its twin Latios.

The Pokemongolive.com website also announced that there will be another special raid event that features Latios in the future. Unfortunately, they didn’t provide a specific date for that Raid event, but we’ll keep an eye out for it for you guys.

In related news, we recently reported that Pokemon Go is launching a new,limited Research event that’s scheduled to take place tomorrow, February 23, 2019. So, Pokemon Go has a ton of lively stuff going on right now. The limited Research event is only going run for only three hours. During it, players will get a chance to receive special Field Research tasks from Pokestops that could lead them to an encounter with the never-before-available Pokemon Clamperl.

Gamestop pointed out that the Clamperl can evolve into either Huntail or Gorebyss. The limited Research event is scheduled to start at the following times for these specific locations:In Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India, the times will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) (GMT +0)

In the Americas and Greenland, the times will be from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (GMT ?8). In the Asia-Pacific, the times will be from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Japan Standard Time (GMT +9) on February 24, 2019.

Wait, wait, wait! That’s not all. Pokemon Go’s developer NIantic is also hosting a special Meltan event until March 4, 2019. In it, players have the opportunity to encounter a Shiny Meltan when opening the Mystery Box. The Gen 4 Legendary Palkia can also still be found in Raid Battles until February 28, 2019.

Another big Pokemon Go update that was recently announced is that it’s finally going to let players switch teams at a price. They’re going to introduce something called a Team Medallion that can be purchased in the in-game shop once every 365 days.

The folks over at Polygon.com revealed that this new Team Medallion will be available starting on Tuesday, February 26, 2019, and it will allow players to switch to either Team Mystic, Team Valor or Team Instinct! Which team will you guys switch to? Let us know in the Facebook comments.

Polygon.com went on to say that the Team Medallion will set players back 1,000 PokeCoins if they purchase it. Players can purchase PokéCoins from Pokémon Go’s in-game shop with real money. However, they can also be earned through playing the game.
