Supernatural Is Officially Ending After The Next, New Season 15
Hey, fellow Supernatural fans. We have some good and unfortunate news to share with you guys in this article. The good news is that your beloved Supernatural TV show will indeed return for a brand new season 15. The bad news is that the new season 15 will also be the show’s final season.
The bad news was officially announced by the main stars of the show: Jensen Ackles aka Dean Winchester, Jared Padalecki aka Sam Winchester and Misha Collins aka Castiel. They did in a special Youtube video, which was uploaded back on March 22, 2019.
In the video, Jared started things off by saying, “Hey guys, Jared, Jenson and Misha here. We have some big news that we wanted ya’ll to hear from us.” Then Jensen said, “We just told the crew that though we’re very excited about moving into our 15th season, it will be our last. 15 years of a show that has certainly changed my life. I know it changed these two guys’ lives, and we just wanted you to hear it from us that though we’re excited about next year, it will be the finale. The big grand finale of an institution.”
Jared said, “Yeah, we’ve cried some tears, and we’ll cry some more.” Jensen said, “We’re going to save the emotion for next season.” Jared said, “We’re grateful, and we’ll work all the emotion into next season.” Misha said, ” We talked about all of this in advance. We were like, ‘Let’s not get emotional about it. Let’s just try to be cool.’ We love you guys, and this family is not going anywhere even though the show will come to an end.”
Jensen said, “I will say this. A little word from Eric Kripke, the creator of this world and these characters. In a show about family, it is amazing. And in the pride of his life, it became family. So, thank you guys for that.” After that, they gave all their fans a goodbye kiss. You guys can view that video over on Youtube by Clicking Here.
So, there you have it, guys. From the stars of the show, themselves. You better savor every last episode in the new season 15 because it will certainly be its last. I was always wondering when they would finally end this show even though I didn’t want them to. Heck , I’ve been watching it since it first started way back in the Fall of 2005.
However, it was always in the back of my mind: “Wow, how long are they going to keep this thing going?” Anyways, we’re assuming that this was the decision of the show and not The CW since The CW just recently awarded it a new season 15. The ratings for the current 14th season have been holding strong and steady at around 1.5 million viewers and episode, give or take.
The ratings for the 18 to 49 year old demographic have held pretty steady, ranging between a 0.47 and a 0.40 score.
Misha Collins recently put out Tweet about the show ending. He did it with a nice, long letter to the fans. He wrote, “In 2008, my life changed forever. What was supposed to be a small part lasting a couple of episodes on a genre TV show turned into over a decade of my career. I had no idea that when I stepped onto that set for what I thought was a simple acting gig, I was actually being welcomed into a family-not just a cast-and-crew family (though certainly that I’ve found some of my closest friends in Jared, Jensen and so many others in our cast and crew), but in all of you… our SPNFamily.
In the last 11 years, we’ve been through so many profound moments together. Our crew and cast have been through a lot of struggles. Several people passed away. Other people got divorced or faced serious health problems… But we’ve also watched one another get married, have children and find great personal success.
There’s been a lot to mourn and a lot to celebrate. And with you, the greater Supernatural Family, we’ve had similar losses and triumphs. We’ve seen so many good people succumb to illness (mental and physical). We’ve seen some of you find new jobs, new families and new genders. In short, it’s been a lifetime.
We have also done some really cool things together. Together, we’ve built an orphanage and a school. Rescued refugees, fed hungry children, saved endangered species and helped people experiencing homelessness or struggling with mental health issues. (There’s no doubt in my mind that this is the kindest fandom in history.)
We’ve played games, created art and fought for political change. I’ve watched so many of you grow, and you’ve watched over our kids as they were born and grew, too. And they’ve been lucky enough to find themselves in a world filled with the warmth of your embrace. Their millions of half-cousins once removed.
It’s the first days of my last-ever Supernatural hiatus. When we go back after the break, we’ll do everything in our power to give you an incredible season you deserve one more time.
We’re at the threshold of an ending, but remember, all “endings” are really just a beginning in disguise. We may have been brought together by this show, but we’re all family now, and that’s not going anywhere. We’ve already impacted the world for the better, and we’re just getting started.” You guys can view that tweet on Misha Collins official Twitter account by Clicking Here.
