New 48 Hours January 13, 2024 Episode Preview Revealed
Hey, “48 Hours” fans. It’s that time again. CBS is going to serve up another brand new episode of 48 Hours for you guys tonight,January 13, 2024. That’s right, guys. Tonight’s new episode will be the 14th one for 48 Hours’ current season 37, and we’ve got some new preview intel for it to run by you guys.
CBS served up a new, official press release for tonight’s new, January 13, 2024 episode 14. So, we will certainly see what it has to say for this preview session right now. Let’s go.
For starters, we do have an official title for this new episode 14 of 48 Hours season 37. It’s called, “Shootout at the Shaughnessys.”
In tonight’s new episode 14, the 48 Hours team will take a deep look at a story about some wealthy, Austin, Texas jewelers named Ted and Corey Shaughnessy. Way back on March 2, 2018, some intruders entered their house, and a gunfight ensued. Afterwards, 55 year old Ted Shaughnessy was dead. The investigators who worked this case initially wondered if this might be a random attack, a robbery gone wrong, or a planned assassination.
Upon further investigation, they found out that this was actually a plot that involved Shaughnessys’ son Nicolas and his wife, Jaclyn Edison. Nicolas ordered a kill hit on his parents. The police found evidence that included text messages between Nicolas and Jaclyn which appeared to be discussions regarding paying for the hit. Not long after that, an arrest for Nicolas and the two alleged hit men was made, and they were charged with capital murder.
In the spring of 2021, Nick Shaughnessy and the two alleged hit men were offered a deal to avoid a possible death penalty. They all agreed to a reduced murder charge that carried a 35 year prison sentence with a possibility of parole in exchange for them pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit capital murder by terror threat or other felony. Nicolas’ wife Jaclyn received a jail sentence of just 120 days and 10 years probation. Correspondent Jim Axelrod handled the reporting duties for this case and episode.

CBS’ press release confirmed that the next, new episode 14 of 48 Hours’ current season 37 is indeed scheduled to hit your TV screens tonight, January 13, 2024, starting at approximately 9 pm central standard time. It will also be available for streaming on Paramount+. Tonight’s new episode will be a 1-hour event. So, expect it to wrap up at 10 pm central standard time.
