New 20/20 September 20 New Season 47 Premiere Episode To Air. Preview Revealed
Hey, “20/20” fans. We’ve got some absolutely terrific news for you guys because the ABC people are finally debuting the brand new season 47 of 20/20 tonight, September 20, 2024. That’s right, guys. Tonight’s new episode will be the premiere episode 1 of the new season 47, and we’ve got some new preview information for it to dish up to you guys.
ABC was nice enough to give us an official press release for tonight’s new episode 1. So, that is what we’ll be taking a look at for this preview session. Let’s get to it.
First off, tonight’s new episode 1 is officially titled, “Cold Blooded.” In this new episode 1, the 20/20 team will take a deep look at a story about a secret romance between a beloved surgeon (Dr. Eric Garcia) and a 32 year old woman (Jordan Joplin), which took place in a remote Alaskan town. It tragically lead to a scandalous murder situation. The investigators who worked this case found clues that eventually led them on a multi-state hunt for the culprit.
Correspondent Chris Connelly handled the reporting duties for this episode and case. It features interviews with: Dr. Garcia’s brother, Saul Garcia; Dawn Hink and Bobby Jackson, close friends of Dr. Garcia in Ketchikan who were at the scene when police found Garcia’s body; law enforcement officials, including Ketchikan Deputy Police Chief Eric Mattson and retired detective Devin Miller and Seattle-area investigators, retired Maj. John McSwain and Sgt. Jake Pavlovich of the King County Sherriff’s Office; Kristin Cowles-Nelson, Joplin’s former fiancée; Sandra Flores, Joplin’s aunt; Jessica Everton, Joplin’s former girlfriend; Chrisanta Lorance, a close friend of Joplin’s; and Zach Halaschak, a former reporter who covered the case closely.
ABC’s official description for tonight’s new premiere episode 1 of 20/20 season 47 reads like this, “Dr. Eric Garcia was a beloved surgeon in the small town of Ketchikan, Alaska. Known for his dedication to patients, those who knew Dr. Garcia described him as a pillar of this tight-knit community.
So, when Dr. Garcia was found dead in his home following a welfare check by local authorities, friends and family were left shocked, grieving and grappling with a profound sense of loss and unanswered questions as to how Dr. Garcia died.
As officers begin to investigate Dr. Garcia’s death, evidence soon reveals a secret romance, the theft of nearly half a million dollars of property from his home, and a suspect with a criminal history who had access and a motive to kill.”
Again, ABC’s press release confirmed that 20/20 is showing up with a brand new episode and new season tonight, September 20, 2024 in the 8 pm central standard time slot. It will be a 2-hour event. So, expect it to wrap up at 10 pm central standard time.
