Sam Raimi Locked In To Direct ‘World of Warcraft’ Movie
According to Variety Sam Raimi has been hired by Warner Bros. to direct their new “World of Warcraft” movie which is based on the very popular video game franchise created by Blizzard Entertainment. Sam Raimi has directed such films as “Spider-Man”,”Evil Dead”, and the most recent flick “Drag Me To Hell” which was really scary by the way.
Legendary Pictures and Blizzard Entertainment are set to mount the film. While Warner Bros will co-finance and distribute it. Sam Raimi is going to supervise the development,and shoot the film after he gets done working on “Spider-Man 4” which is supposed to start in early 2010 for Columbia Pictures.
“World of Warcraft” features an epic battle between the Horde and the Alliance. The latest installment for the video game franchise entitled “Wrath of the Lich King” sold more than 2.8 million copies the first day it was released,and more than 4 million in the first month.
Charles Roven,Alex Gartner,Thomas Tull,Jon Jashni,Sam Raimi,and Joshua Donen are going to produce the film.
