Grey’s Anatomy Season 14 Is Bringing On A New Female Guest

Hey, “Grey’s Anatomy” fans. We’ve got some very interesting new casting news for you guys in regards to this current season 14. Recently, the folks over at Entertainment Weekly put out a new article revealing that the show has hired former”One Tree Hill” actress Bethany Joy Lenz.

If any of you were “One Tree Hill” fans, you’ll remember her as the one who played character Haley James Scott on that show. Entertainment Weekly pointed out that this new casting comes just after they got rid of season regular Martin Henderson aka Dr. Nathan Riggs.

Bethany is scheduled to just be a guest character on Grey’s Anatomy. So, it doesn’t sound like she’ll be sticking around for long. She might come in and do an arc that spans a few episodes and then head out. But, who knows? Anything can happen. She might stick around the whole season if they decide its better for the show. We’ll just have to wait and see.

As far who Bethany will be playing in Grey’s Anatomy, we just have a character name at the moment. Entertainment Weekly revealed that she’ll be playing a character named Jenny. Currently, we don’t have a last name for Jenny or anything else for that matter. We just know that you guys should expect to see a new girl named Jenny to show up at some point.

We say some point because there’s also no reported date for when Jenny is scheduled to debut. There’s no episode count for her either. They’re definitely keeping her character details tightly under wraps.

Entertainment Weekly also pointed out that this new Grey’s Anatomy role isn’t the only time Bethany has worked for producer Shonda Rhimes. Shonda had also casts her for the now defunct ABC show, “The Catch.” It just recently got canceled this past May 2017 after being on for two seasons.

Apparently, Bethany wasn’t apart of that show for long. She actually got cut after the pilot because the producers decided to take the storyline in a different direction. That’s according to The Hollywood Reporter who originally broke this news of Bethany’s Grey’s Anatomy casting.

Aside from One Tree Hill and The Catch, Bethany has appeared in many other productions. According to her IMDB profile, she has had roles in a 1992 TV movie called,”Psalty’s Salvation Celebration.” A 1996 production called, “I Love You, I love You Not.” “Thinner,” a 1973 TV movie called, “1973,” a TV movie “Mary and Rhoda,” TV show Guiding Light, TV show “Off Centre,” “Charmed”TV show.

“Felicity” TV show, “The Legacy” TV show, Maybe It’s Me TV show, “The Guardian” TV show, Bring It On Again movie, “Live Unexpected”TV show,”Men at Work” TV show, “Dexter” TV show, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation TV show, “Songbyrd” TV show, “Sock Monkee Therapy TV show, The Christmas Secret TV show, “Agents Of SHIELD” TV show, “Home” TV show, American Gothic TV show, Colony TV show, a production called, “Extortion” and a TV movie called,”Snowed Inn.”

So, Bethany has definitely had quite a busy career. We think her most prominent role was the “One Tree Hill” one. It was a very popular show on The CW that lasted for nine seasons.

In related news, we got some very good news about Grey’s Anatomy’s current 14th season from the folks over at E! Online. They’re reporting that ABC decided to order more season 14 episodes bringing the grand total to 24.

No one was able to verify what the order was before that. So, we don’t know how many extra episodes ABC actually ordered. We’re guessing that maybe the original order was for 22, but we can’t be sure. We’re actually surprised that the original order wasn’t for 24 episodes considering how strong of a performer it is for ABC.

Taking a look at the current ratings for season 14, it’s sitting on a 1.80 rating score for the 18-49 year old demographic which is down from the 2.34 score that the season premiered at in late September 2017.

As far as pure viewership goes, it’s averaging 8 to 7 million viewers per episode in the United States alone. The numbers are down slightly as of the last episode 6. That one brought in about 7.342 million viewers. The season 14 premiere episode brought in 8.071 million viewers.

The viewership has been dropping slightly since the premiere with the exception of slight upswing in the 4th episode where it brought in 8.078 million viewers. Despite the slight viewership drop as of late, the show is still very safe. It’s not going anywhere anytime soon. Also, these drops and rises are an expected occurrence. They happen with nearly every show.

The next episode that scheduled for the current season 14 is titled, “Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story.” It’s the 300th episode for the series. A very brief description of it tells us that a roller coaster car will end up falling off the track at the county fair!

Elsewhere, the doctors at Grey Sloan will be very bust tending to patients who spark memories about ghosts from their past. So, it definitely sounds like the 7th episode of this season will feature a ton of wild drama and intriguing scenes to look forward to.

It’s confirmed to air on Thursday night, November 9,2017 at 7 pm central standard time on ABC. Stay tuned. Also, be sure to follow us on our Grey’s Anatomy Facebook page for more Grey’s Anatomy news by Clicking Here.
