‘Pretty Little Liars’ Lucy Hale Is About To Star In A Brand New Movie
Happy Sunday, “Pretty Little Liars” fans. We’ve got some good news for you guys in regards to the former, Pretty Little Liars, Aria Montgomery star Lucy Hale. It turns out that she’s landed a new movie gig after her CW “Life Sentence” drama took a flop after just its first,13 episode season.
According to the folks over at Deadline.com , Lucy is set to star in a new movie called, ” A Nice Girl Like You.” They say it’s an indie rom-com that’s based on a true story by Ayn Carillo-Gailey. Andrea Marcellus adapted the story for the screen. The movie is going to be directed by the brother team of Chris and Nick Riedell.
Lucy’s character in this new flick is Lucy Neal. She’s described as being an adorable, follow-the-rules, somewhat repressed, well-educated violinist who is thrown for a loop when she is accused of being too inhibited by her ex-boyfriend. In an effort to prove him wrong, Lucy creates a rather wild to-do list that sends her on a whirlwind journey of self-discovery, friendship, and new love.”
The movie started filming this month October 2018 in New Jersey. As well as acting in the film, Lucy is also co-producing it. Other producers working on the movie are: Jina Panebianco, R. Wesley Sierk III, Nicholas Bogner and Melanie Greene.
Currently, Lucy’s “Nice Girl Like You” movie doesn’t have a scheduled premiere date. Hopefully, we’ll see some extra details of that surface in the not-to-distant future.
The last movie we saw Lucy Hale in was that horror flick “Truth Or Dare” from Blumhouse and Univeral Pictures. One of her co-stars was Tyler Posey from that Teen Wolf show that used to air on MTV. Lucy did a wonderful job in “Truth Or Dare.” Since Pretty Little Liars ended its long run after season 7, Lucy has gone on to appear in some other productions. They are: “The Unicorn” and “Dude.” According to Lucy’s IMDB page, she’s also rumored to have landed a role in another production called, “Fantasy Island.” We got confirmation that it is indeed a remake of the classic “Fantasy Island” show that aired on ABC from 1977 to 1984.
We hope Lucy does actually have a role in it. Anything that keeps our girl employed and working is a good thing. Lucy is repped by ICM Partners and Reel Talent Management. As previously reported, Lucy is all on board if the “Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists” spin off comes calling for her to reprise her Aria Montgomery character.
During some recent interviews, Lucy was asked about possibly appearing on the new spin-off, and she had nothing but positive things to say. She’s definitely down to do it if they ask her to. In that same vein, she also acknowledged that her former castmates Janel Parrish aka Mona Vanderwaal and Sasha Pieterse aka Alison Di Laurentis will be the ones that carry the show.
Lucy explained, “It’s an interesting position to be in because we did so many episodes of ‘PLL,’ and we really did all we could with it. When that ended, a lot of us had really closed that chapter. We said goodbye to our characters, and we were comfortable with that. It was bittersweet when PLL ended, but a lot of us have moved forward in our careers and we’re looking to do different things.
That being said, I never say no to anything. I would definitely keep that option open, but it really is Janel and Sasha’s moment to shine. I don’t think they necessarily got as much of those moments on the last show. So, I’m really excited for them. It’s their show. They’re going to carry it, and I’ll be watching from the sidelines and tuning in like everyone else to see what they do with it.”
Lucy told the Brit.co website there’s a very good possibility that The Perfectionists will bring on Aria, and she’s definitely ready to do it! She stated when they asked if she might star in The Perfectionists at some point, “There’s a good possibility! I don’t know exactly what they’re doing with the show, but if there’s a place for Aria, I would absolutely do that.”
So, all you Aria fans should definitely start crossing your fingers right now in hopes that she will make a return. Currently, The Perfectionists is filming the first 10 episodes over in the Portland, Oregon area. The show is tentatively set to debut in March 2019. However, we’ve heard other dates. So, it’s definitely not certain at this point. We’ll just patiently have to wait for Freeform’s official announcement.
