Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists Is Canceled. Season 2 Is Not Happening

Hey, “Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists” fans. This is a very sad article that I have to write for you guys today. We finally got official word of what Freeform decided to do about this “Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists” spin off show.

According to a recent report from the folks over at TV Guide , Freeform did decide to cancel it. So, there will be no season 2 to look forward to.

I can’t say this was a surprise. The LIVE ratings and viewership numbers for this show were abysmal right from jump street. As soon as it premiered to an audience of just 400,000 or so people, we knew that it did not look good.

Surely enough, that audience was cut in half the following episode, and it would drop even lower than that before the season ended. By the time it was done, it averaged just 260,000 viewers per episode with 0.12 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics.

The finale episode 10, which aired back on May 22, 2019 only brought in around 265,000 LIVE viewers and a 0.12 ratings score.

I pretty much figured the show was canceled way before season 1 ended. At the very best, it would take some sort of miracle for it to get renewed. Also, when Freeform waited months and months to say anything about its possible season 2 status, that was a dead give-away as well.

I remember back when they renewed the original Pretty Little Liars show for new seasons. The renewals were announced way ahead of time, and Freeform would rush them to get new seasons made because it was their number one money maker.

Unfortunately, with this Perfectionists spin-off, it was the exact opposite. Freeform was in no rush to announce its status, and it finally seemed like they were just forced to finally make a comment for those people who needed a formal announcement.

For us, when Freeform said nothing for five months, they actually said a million words. Again, we are sad for guys who wanted to see this show continue, but the writing was on the wall for a very long time.

If these shows can’t get enough people to watch it, it’s just not going to continue because the network can’t make enough money from advertising to pay for the show and make a profit.

The first and only season 1 of “The Perfectionists” ended with a huge cliffhanger, which revealed The Professor to be the group’s stalker. It left the question of the Professor’s actual identity open along with who actually killed Nolan Hotchkiss. Needless to say, the producer was unrealistically optimistic of the show’s future.

A few hours before the cancellation announcement was made, one of the main stars Janel Parrish aka Mona Vanderwaal hit up her official Instagram account to post the following words: “Onward and upward.” You guys can view that post on Janel Parrish’s official Instagram account by Clicking Here.

There is still some good news for all you Pretty Little Liars fans. Former Aria Montgomery star Lucy Hale is still filming her new TV Show for The CW called, “Katy Keene.”

It’s a spin off for their popular CW “Riverdale” show. We’ll definitely keep you guys up to date on it. It’s scheduled to premiere sometime in 2020. Hopefully, it’ll do much better than the Perfectionists show. Actually, there’s already a trailer clip for Lucy’s new Katy Keene show. You guys can view it over on Youtube by Clicking Here.

Alright guys. That’s all we’ve got for this latest “Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists” report, but definitely stay tuned for more. We’ll continue to cover the careers of the original Pretty Little Liars stars on this page.
