The Bachelorette June 14, 2021 Eliminated Cody Menk (Recap)

Hey, Bachelor Nation fans. Tonight, June 14, 2021, another new episode of The Bachelorette 2021 edition with headliner Katie Thurston did indeed air. Tonight’s episode kicked off with Katie telling Kaitlyn Bristowe and Tayshia Adams that she’s looking to find out who’s there for the right reasons.

Next, Katie took Christian Garrett, Tre, Quartney, Mike P, James, Justin, Thomas, Connor B and Karl on a group date. Comedian Heather McDonald showed up on this group date to host it. Heather asked the guys sex and female anatomy questions. Mike P had problems with this challenge because he’s the token virgin. He just kept writing down question marks to these questions.

After the questions, the guys had to put on LIVE performance for Katie in front of a crowd. These performances were filled with sexual innuendos as Katie was trying to discover who’s the greatest lover of the bunch.

When Mike hit the stage, he got Katie to join him, and he read her a poem that revealed he was a virgin ,and he would wait another 31 years for that special one. Katie loved it and thought it was so sweet. Mike P ended up winning the competition!

During the night portion of the group date, Katie talked 1 on 1 with Connor B. Katie reassured him he’s meant to be there, and they kissed after Connor suggested they redo their kiss. Katie said it was a much better kiss this time.

Katie talked with Tre. Katie talked with Karl. Katie and Karl talked about past relationships ,and they had some good laughs. Katie talked with Thomas. Thomas gave her a lot of compliments, and they kissed. After all the talking, Katie gave Thomas the group date rose.

Next, Katie and Greg went on a 1 on 1 date. Katie took Greg camping. They appeared to have a pretty good time. They had some laughs over making an outdoor toilet out of a bucket. They talked and kissed.

Katie told the private cams, “Greg is just so easy to be around. I feel like I know him. I feel like we’re dating. He impresses me without really trying.”

Katie talked with Greg about losing her dad when she was younger. They did some fishing. Katie told Greg, “I see you being here for a while if you want to be.”

During the second half of their date, Greg told Katie he lost his dad too due to cancer. He teared up and things got pretty emotional. Katie told Greg, “This is the first time I didn’t cry about my dad, and I think I owe a lot of that to you.” After that, they hugged.

Katie told the private cams, “The way Greg looked at me and held my hand was sweet.” Katie gave Greg a rose saying, “It was the perfect date.” From there, they hugged and kissed while literal fireworks went off in the sky. Katie told the private cams “I feel like I’m falling for Greg.”

Next, Kaitlyn and Tayshia woke the guys up with lots of clanging noises for their group date. For this group date, Katie took John, Andrew S., Kyle, Josh, Aaron, Brendan, Hunter and Cody to do some mud wrestling in a competition they titled, “Katie’s Big Buckle Brawl.”

At one point, Aaron told the private cams, “I know Cody from back home, and we don’t get along.” Cody and Aaron ended up mud wrestling each other, and Katie told the private cams, “I can definitely tell something personal is going on with them.” Aaron won the mud wrestling competition.

Afterwards, Katie talked with Aaron. She asked him what is going on between he and Cody. Aaron told Katie, “We know each other from back home in San Diego. I don’t like the way Cody handles situations. He’s malicious and unkind. I don’t think he’s here for the right reasons. I think he’s here for fame.” Katie thanked Aaron for the info.

During the second half of the group date, Katie immediately went to talk with Cody, and she told him what Aaron said about him. Cody told Katie, “It’s just not factual information. I don’t know what he’s referring to. There may be some exaggerations.”

Afterwards, Cody went to talk to Aaron, and he told him, “You’re making me look bad.” Katie told the private cams, “Cody didn’t seem genuine when I asked him about what Aaron said. That’s a red flag.”

Katie pulled Cody aside again and told him, “I don’t feel we have trust, and it’s too early for that. So,I think you should go home now.” Cody said,”I understand, and I hope you find what you’re looking for.” Then they hugged, and he left.

After that, Katie told the rest of the guys that she sent Cody home, and that she needed some time to herself. A few moments later, Andrew went to check in on Katie. They talked, and they connected about their upbringing. He told her she is exceptional ,and they kissed.

From there, Kate talked with Kyle. Katie talked with John. Katie talked with Josh. Katie talked with Hunter. Hunter gave her some sort of romantic letter. She liked it ,and they hugged. In the end, it was Andrew that scored the group date rose from Katie.

Next up, was the cocktail party footage. During it, Katie talked with Michael, and she reassured him that she feels really confident about him. Michael ,of course, liked that a lot, and they kissed.

Katie talked with Thomas. She told Thomas, “A possible life with him feels great.” Katie talked with Karl, and he told her he doesn’t think everyone has the 100 percent best intentions, but he didn’t want to say any names.

Katie told the private cams, “I want to trust Karl, but I don’t really know him.” In fact, she questioned whether or not Karl is maybe just trying to stir the pot.

Katie was really disturbed by Karl’s words. So, she confronted all the guys and gave another big speech about being there for the right reasons. She said , “If you’re not here for the right reasons, get the f#%ck out!”

Next, Katie asked to speak with Aaron. She said she trusted him ,and wanted to know if he knew of anyone else who is not there for the right reasons.

Meanwhile, Karl told the rest of the guys that he started this whole debacle by telling Katie that he thinks there are multiple people that aren’t there for the right reasons, but he doesn’t know exactly who.

Aaron told Karl what he did was dumb by coming at Katie sideways, accusing multiple guys of not being there for the right reasons without facts or specifics. He also said Katie’s crying right now because of it!

And that was the show, guys. We got the “To Be Continued” message. So, we’ll see this drama pick up from where it left off in next week’s episode. Just to recap, Cody got sent packing after being accused of being there for the wrong reasons.

The next, new episode of The Bachelorette 2021 edition with headliner Katie Thurston is scheduled to air next Monday night, June 21, 2021 at approximately 7 pm central standard time.
