The Bachelorette July 26, 2021 Michael Allio Eliminated Himself (Recap)
Hey, Bachelor Nation fans. Tonight, July 26, 2021, another new episode of “The Bachelorette” 2021 edition with headliner Katie Thurston did indeed air, and one of Katie’s final 4 guys ended up quitting when it was all said and done. Plus, we saw some “Men Tell All” footage.
Tonight’s episode kicked off with Katie talking with Tayshia about her upcoming hometown dates. The final 4 guys were also seen talking about Katie meeting their family. Michael A said, “I’m really excited for Katie to meet my family. She answered a lot of questions for me during out last time together.”
Next, they showed footage of Michael A having a very emotional facetime chat with his son James. Michael told the private cams that during he and James’ conversation, James asked him why he doesn’t want to see him anymore because Michael never told James why he’s away. Michael said it was for James’ protection.
Michael told the private cams, “”I don’t know what to do. When this starts to effect my son, that’s when everything changes.”
Michael’s conversation with James really got to him to the point that he went to talk to Katie to tell her, “Something happened that changes things for me. James told me,’Why don’t you wanna see me anymore?’ After that, I can’t focus on anything else. With hometowns coming up, I don’t think it’s right to only give you half of what I could be.”
Katie said, “I’m sorry. I just did not see this coming. I saw us going to the end, which makes this really confusing for me right now.” Michael said, “I’m not leaving because of us. I’m leaving because my son needs his dad.”
Katie said, “As selfish as I wanna be and beg you to stay, I know that is not an option. I know you’re just trying to be a good dad.”
Michael said, “You taught me how to love again.” Katie said, “Give me a hug,” and they hugged goodbye. Katie told the private cams “It’s hard because we were so close to the end. It just doesn’t feel right. Our connection is still there. I knew what my life would be if I chose Michael, and that was the life I wanted. It’s very possible that my person just left.”
After all of that, the “Men Tell All” part of the episode started, featuring Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe as the hosts. Katie’s previously rejected men: Quartney, Cody, Charles, Kyle, Aaron, Connor B, Conor C, Andrew S, Michael A, Tre, James, Hunter, Karl and Brendan returned to talk about what went down this season.
They started by taking a look back at all the drama that happened this season. After that, Aaron confronted Cody again. He said he still doesn’t like Cody. Karl said the men just ganged up on a particular guy like it was a witch hunt during the season.
At one point, Karl admitted that he did make a mistake and messed things up by telling Katie multiple guys are not there for the right reasons. A big argument ensued with multiple guys. Karl told Brendan to “Shut the F up” at one point! It got pretty heated.
They talked about Thomas at one point. Hunter said, “I don’t think Thomas is a bad guy. This setting just makes you do things you wouldn’t normally do, and I think Thomas got caught up in all of that.”
Then some of the men attacked Hunter saying he was just like Thomas. Hunter claimed that he did not lie about falling in love with Katie. He said, “There is a difference between being in love with someone and falling in love with someone. I believe I was falling in love with Katie.” Connor B backed Hunter up on that statement when James tried to accuse him of not being genuine.
Next, Connor B took the hot seat with Tayshia and Kaitlyn. They took a look back at his journey during this season. Afterwards, they asked him about how he feels about Katie telling him that their connection wasn’t there when they kissed.
Connor B said, “I actually called one or two of my exes and asked them if I was a bad kisser. They said my kissing was fine.” Next, a lady in the audience stood up and told Connor, “I thought you were adorable, and I don’t think you could possibly be a bad kisser.” Everyone egged him on to kiss the lady, and they kissed. The lady said Connor was a great kisser. An 11 on a scale of 1-10.
Andrew S joined Kaitlyn and Tayshia on the hot seat. The looked back at his time on the show. Afterwards, Andrew said, “Me and Katie kept getting better, but it just wasn’t enough compared to the other guys, and I can’t do anything about that.”
Michael A joined Kaitlyn and Tayshia on the hot seat. They took a look back at his time on the show. Afterwards, Michael talked about how he quit to go be with his son saying, “It’s a reminder of what I had to do to be a great parent to my beautiful son. It’s a constant juggling act. The fact that we were so close makes it harder. However, for James, it was my only decision.”
After all of that, they watched a couple of blooper clips featuring the guys during some of their challenges and messing up. They took a look at some funny clips during the Wo Wo challenge, which meant a week off from masturbating. Michael A said he didn’t complete the challenge.
Next, they brought on Kaitlyn’s fiance Jason Tartick. They showed footage of when Jason proposed to Kaitlyn. It was very emotional.
From there, they brought on this season’s Bachelorette headliner herself Katie Thurston! At one point, Michael A told Katie, “Thank you for showing me I could love again.” Andrew S echoed Michael’s statements. Tre told Katie, “You’re a gem of a woman. I learned a lot from you.” Aaron told Katie, “I’ll always be in your corner.” Connor B sang Katie another song.
At one point, Katie told Karl, “I had to send you home early because our relationship hadn’t progressed far enough, and I wanted to keep peace in the house, but ultimately you were right about there being multiple guys that were not there for the right reasons.” Karl said, “I had no hard feelings, and I hope you were able to find love.”
Next, Thomas joined in via satellite. He told Katie, “My biggest regret is giving you uncertainty. I’m so sorry for that.”
Thomas also asked Katie why everything just switched for her the night she sent him home. Katie told him, “Your speech just didn’t seem genuine in that moment. So, I just ended it at that time.” Thomas said, “Thanks, that does give me some clarity. I’m thankful for the journey we had.” Katie said, “I do apologize for any pain I caused you in the way I sent you out.” Thomas said, “Thanks, I appreciate that.”
After that, they watched more bloopers from this season. Then, they showed a preview clip of the final two episodes. I must say it was quite compelling. The preview clip ended with Katie telling Kaitlyn, “This has all blown up in my face. I want someone to book my flight home.” So, wow. That is something to look forward to in the next two episodes.
The next, new episode of The Bachelorette 2021 edition with headliner Katie Thurston is scheduled to air next Monday night, August 1, 2021 at approximately 7 pm central standard time on ABC.
