Law & Order SVU Season 23, May 19, 2022 Episode 22 Is The Finale. Season 24 Is Happening
Hey, “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” fans. We hope you guys totally enjoyed watching episode 22 ,tonight, and that you savored every last, friggin minute of it, especially since it was the very last episode that you’re going to see for quite some time. Yep, that’s right, guys. This current season 23 of Law & Order: SVU has capped out at 22 episodes. So, episode 22 was the season 23 finale edition.
The good news is that we can officially inform you that you will get to see more brand new episodes of Law & Order: SVU in the future because NBC totally renewed it for a new season 24 a couple of years back according to the folks over at Deadline.com. Yep, way, way back in February of 2020, NBC awarded Law & Order: SVU a 3-year renewal deal for seasons 22, 23 and 24 all at the same time.
During the renewal announcement, the Chairman of NBC Entertainment Paul Telegdy had some great things to say about Law & Order: SVU and its creator/executive producer Dick Wolf stating, “Dick Wolf has proven time and time again that he makes shows audiences love. We are delighted, excited and proud that as part of this epic deal with Wolf Entertainment, NBC’s loyal audience will know that their favorite shows have a certain future for the next three years.”
Currently, it’s unknown when the new season 24 will debut or how many episodes it will feature. However, we’re guessing that NBC will probably give it another full season of 22 episodes. Maybe more. Who knows? We’ll have to give you that important info when NBC releases it at a later date.
Law & Order: SVU’s current season 23 averaged 4.474 million LIVE viewers, and a 0.65 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics. The most recent episode 21, which aired last Thursday night, May 12, 2022, drew in 4.502 million LIVE viewers, and a 0.65 ratings score.
The most-viewed episodes were the premiere episodes 1 and 2 with 5.567 million LIVE viewers. The least-viewed episode was episode 9 with 3.487 million LIVE viewers.
The highest-rated episodes were the premiere episodes 1 and 2 with a 0.79 ratings score. The lowest-rated episodes were episodes 9 and 17. They both tied for last place with a 0.57 ratings score.
