Station 19 Season 5, May 19, 2022 Episode 18 Is The Finale. Season 6 Is Happening
Hey, “Station 19” fans. We hope you guys totally enjoyed and savored every friggin minute of tonight’s episode 18, especially since it will be the last one for quite a while. Yep, that’s right, guys. Tonight’s episode 18 was indeed the season 5 finale episode for your beloved show Station 19.
However, never fret because we can officially tell you guys, right now, that you will get to see more new episodes of Station 19 at some point in the future because ABC did give it a brand new season 6 renewal! That’s right, guys. ABC renewed it right after they renewed the show it was spun off from Grey’s Anatomy for a new season 19.
According to the folks over at Deadline.com , the renewal announcement took place way, way back in January 2022. So, there was no question in ABC’s mind that they wanted the show to come back for more.
Deadline also stated that Krista Vernoff will remain the showrunner/executive producer for both Station 19 and Grey’s Anatomy in the new, 2022/2023 season. Krista also had some nice things to say about that stating, “It’s a privilege to tell stories of our heroic first responders, who on our show and in real life put their lives on the line every day to keep us all safe.
I’m so grateful to Disney and ABC for the early pickup for Season 6 of Station 19! It’s a tribute to the incredible work of our talented cast, crew, writers and creative team, as well as the dedication of our loyal fans who tune in every week.”
Craig Erwich who is the ABC Entertainment president had some wonderful things to say about the show and Krista Vernoff stating, “The riveting storytelling and passionate fan base that Station 19 continues to cultivate is a testament to the unrelenting dedication of Krista Vernoff and the incredibly talented cast and crew. Coupled with yesterday’s renewal of Grey’s Anatomy, the return of Station 19 ensures more crossover opportunities and a thrilling night of appointment television.”
Currently, it’s not yet known when Station 19’s new season 6 will debut or how many episodes it will feature. We’ll have to give you that important info when ABC releases it at a later date.
Station 19 season 5 averaged 4.481 million LIVE viewers per episode, and a 0.62 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics. The most recent episode 17, which aired last Thursday night, May 12, 2022, drew in 3.954 million LIVE viewers, and a 0.48 ratings score.
The most-viewed episode was the premiere episode 1 with 5.039 million LIVE viewers. The least-viewed episode was episode 17 with the 3.954 million LIVE viewers.
The highest-rated episode was the premiere episode 1 with a 0.76 ratings score. The lowest-rated episode was episode 17 with the 0.48 ratings score. If you factor in the Live+7 DVR playback numbers, season 5 actually averaged 6.3 million viewers per episode, and a 1.0 ratings score. So, those were definitely some very good numbers that ABC liked.
