Tough As Nails January 11, 2023 Eliminated Renee Kolar From Individual Competitions (Recap)
Hey, “Tough As Nails” fans. Tonight, January 11, 2023, another new episode of Tough As Nails season 4 did indeed air, and we saw another unlucky contestant get eliminated from the individual competitions at the end.
Tonight’s episode kicked off with another new team challenge. In it, they had to locate 10 different species of trees and pull four of them from each for a total of 40 trees. Then, they had to get them ready for delivery by tying a tarp down on them for the win.
Beth was made the crew boss for the Dirty Hands team. Larron was made the crew boss for the Savage Crew team. During the challenge, the teams had to go to a certain location and find the trees on a directory. Then, they had to view a map to try and find them via a vehicle.
The Dirty Hands crew ended up running into a communication problem and realized they had missed a couple of trees when they thought they were done. So, they had to go back and get those missing trees, which caused them to lose more valuable time.
Eventually, that lost time proved to be Dirty Hands demise because the Savage Crew did pull out the victory to lead the team victories 2-1. They won the usual $12,000 dollars along with another badge of honor. The first team to collect 5 badges of honors wins an extra $60,000 dollars.
Next up, was the individual competition. In it,they had to correctly build a 3×3 planter box. Then, they had to replant a magnolia plant in it for the win. During this challenge, a lot of people kept looking for an approval for their box and failed due to small details. Jorge was the first one to get it correct. So, he was able to get his magnolia planted well before everyone else to claim the first place finish aka the win. They gave away a bigger cash bonus for this individual win. So, Jorge got to pocket a cool $3,000 dollars for this individual victory.
Sergio ran into a major problem because his past back pain flared up again, causing him to have to stop the challenge and lay down. However, he was eventually able to continue. Not only that, he made a good comeback to actually avoid finishing well ahead of the last two spots and avoid the Overtime challenge.
The end results were: Aly finishing in 2nd place. Larron took 3rd. Laura claimed the 4th spot. Beth finished 5th. Jake came in 6th. Sergio got 7th place. Ellery came in 8th and Ilima got that very important 9th spot to avoid having to go into the Overtime challenge. Mister and Renee were the unlucky contestants that could not complete the challenge in time. So, they had to battle it out in the Overtime challenge.
In the Overtime challenge, Renee and Mister had to repot 24 plants and load them onto a trailer for the win. During this challenge, they had to identify 4 different species of plants and get six of each of them. At one point, Renee picked up the wrong plants, and that mistake caused her to fall behind, but she did catch up and actually passed Mister at one point.
Then, it came down to the wire, and Mister was just able to edge out Renee to claim the win. So, Renee did get eliminated from the individual competitions in this episode, but she will be sticking around for the team challenges, and she said she is excited about that.
