NCIS Season 20 May 22, 2023 Episode 22 Is The Finale. Season 21 Is Happening
Hey, “NCIS” fans. We totally hope that you thoroughly enjoyed and savored every last minute of tonight’s episode 22, especially since it was the very last episode of NCIS that you’ll be seeing for this season 20. That’s right, guys. Episode 22 was the season 20 finale episode. That means it’s going to be a while before you get to see another new episode of NCIS.
On the bright side, we can officially inform you that CBS did greenlight NCIS for a new season 21 renewal! So, you guys will get to see more new episodes of NCIS at some point in the future. Currently, it’s unknown when the new season 21 will hit your TV sets, or how many episodes it will feature.
However, we’re guessing it’ll most likely get another full season, 22 episodes order from CBS. Normally, we would say that NCIS is returning this Fall sometime, but if this writers strike doesn’t get cleared up soon, we could see a later than usual premiere date for NCIS’ new season 21. We’ll have to wait and see.
According to the Deadline.com people, CBS gave NCIS an early season 21 renewal back in February 2023. So, there was never any doubt. CBS loves its performance.
The president of CBS Entertainment Amy Reisenbach did make a general statement for all their shows during the NCIS season 21 renewal announcement since they renewed a couple of other shows at the same time. She said,”This season CBS is continuing its winning tradition, delivering an unparalleled combination of top returning series and new hit shows that are entertaining huge audiences on both broadcast and streaming.
It is a testament to the stellar work being done by our best-in-class talent in front of and behind the camera that we have had yet another exceptional season, and I know we will only continue to build on this foundation of outstanding programming as we look ahead toward next fall.”
According to the LIVE Nielsen ratings, NCIS season 20 averaged 6.769 million LIVE viewers per episode, and a 0.44 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics. The most recent episode 21, which aired last Monday night, May 15, 2023, managed to draw in 6.657 million LIVE viewers, and a 0.44 ratings score.
The most-viewed episode was episode 10 with 7.928 million LIVE viewers. The least-viewed episode was the premiere episode 1 with 5.819 million LIVE viewers. The highest-rated episode was episode 10 with a 0.56 ratings score. The lowest-rated episode was episode 11 with a 0.33 ratings score.
We’re pretty sure those numbers at least double when you tack on all the numbers from the streaming platforms like Paramount+ and so on and so forth. Anyways, the numbers from NCIS look great. There’s no confusion why CBS gave it an early renewal.
Alright, guys. That’s going to wrap it up for this latest, “NCIS” TV show report, but definitely stay tuned for more.
