Chicago Med Season 8 May 24, 2023 Episode 22 Is The Finale. Season 9 Is Happening
Hey, “Chicago Med” fans. We hope you guys totally enjoyed every minute of tonight’s episode 22, especially since it was indeed the episode that wrapped up Chicago Med’s current season 8. That’s right, guys. Episode 22 was the finale episode for this season 8. So, it’s going to be a while before you get to see another new episode of Chicago Med, especially with this writers strike we’ve got going on right now.
Anyways, the good news is that you will get to see another new episode of Chicago Med at some point in time because NBC did renew it for a brand new season 9! That’s right, guys. Chicago Med will be back in your faces to serve up another new slate of episodes next season.
According to the folks over at NBC.com , this renewal announcement took place on May 12, 2023. They also indicated that Chicago Fire and Chicago PD got renewed for new seasons. So, if you guys are fans of those shows as well, that’s triple good news.
Lisa Katz who is the president of scripted programming over at NBCUniversal and Streaming made a very positive statement for the Chicago line of shows saying, “We understand the emotional connection our audience has with these characters and we can’t wait to bring more of their stories to the forefront next season. A huge thank you to Dick and his amazing team who are the masters of producing incredibly compelling television week after week.”
The creator of the Chicago line of shows Dick Wolf made a very positive statement for all his shows getting renewed saying, “I’m pleased to continue my four-decade relationship with Universal Television and NBC. All six shows being picked up again is the ultimate accolade to our incredible casts, producers, and writers. I’d also like to thank our loyal fans who have kept our NBC shows on the air for what will be a cumulative 84 seasons.”
According to the LIVE Neilsen ratings, Chicago Med season 8 averaged 6.486 million LIVE viewers per episode, and a 0.58 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics. The most recent episode 21 , which aired last Wednesday night, May 17, 2023, managed to draw in 5.614 million LIVE viewers, and a 0.47 ratings score.
The most-viewed episode was episode 12 with 6.949 million LIVE viewers. The least-viewed episode was episode 20 with 5.451 million LIVE viewers. The highest-rated episode was the premiere episode 1 with a 0.70 ratings score. The lowest-rated episode was episode 20 with a 0.40 ratings score. So, those are definitely strong numbers. It’s easy to see why it was renewed.
