The first thing NBC let us know is that tonight’s new, October 20, 2023 episode 7 of Dateline NBC season 32 does have an official title. It’s called, “65 Seconds.”
In tonight’s new, October 20, 2023 episode 7, the Dateline NBC team took a deep look at a story about a St. Paul, Minnesota couple Heidi Firkus and Nick. Their home got invaded, and Heidi turned up dead as a result of it. Nick got hospitalized. The detectives that worked this case eventually found out that this couple was facing some serious financial troubles. This case has led to a decade-long search for justice.
NBC News’ Blayne Alexander handled the reporting duties for this case and episode. This episode features interviews with: Heidi’s brother Pete Erickson and sister-in-law Jolene Erickson, Nick’s second wife Rachel, Nick’s close friends and others.
NBC’s official description for tonight’s new, October 20, 2023 episode 7 of Dateline NBC season 32 reads like this, “After an apparent home invasion in Minnesota leaves 25-year-old Heidi Firkus dead and her husband Nick hospitalized, detectives learn the young couple was facing financial troubles. In Friday’s all-new Dateline, insiders connected to the case speak out about the decade-long search for justice.”
