New 48 Hours May 4, 2024 Episode 29 Preview Revealed
Hey, “48 Hours” fans. We’re back to give you guys another new preview session for your favorite CBS news show 48 Hours. In this preview session, we’re going to talk about what the next, new episode 29 of this current season 37 will offer up. It’s due to arrive tonight, May 4, 2024.
We were able to track down an official press release for tonight’s new episode 29 from the wonderful CBS folks. So, we will certainly reference it for this preview session. Let’s get to it.
To start, there is an official title for this new episode 29 of 48 Hours season 37. It’s called, “The Detective’s Wife.” In tonight’s new episode 29, the 48 Hours team will take a deep look at a story about a very respected detective named Brian Fanion. He actually became a suspect for his own wife’s death back in 2018.
Brian told the police that he had gotten into an argument with his wife Amy Fanion about his retirement plans. Then, she got so upset that she shot herself with his gun! The investigators who worked this case did not believe the story that Brian presented. CBS News correspondent Nikki Battiste handled the reporting duties for this episode and case.
CBS’ official description for tonight’s new episode 29 of 48 Hours season 37 reads like this, “On May 8, 2018, detective Brian Fanion dialed 911. When Massachusetts State Police detectives Brendan O’Toole and Mike Blanchette arrived at the scene, they found 51-year-old Amy Fanion dead on the dining room floor.
According to Brian Fanion, the couple had been arguing about his retirement plans, and at some point, Amy Fanion picked up his service weapon and shot herself. Investigators did not believe his story. Contributor Nikki Battiste reports in 48 HOURS: “The Detective’s Wife.”
An alternate description tells us, “A RESPECTED DETECTIVE BECOMES A SUSPECT IN THE DEATH OF HIS WIFE – HE INSISTS HE DIDN’T DO IT – A CRIME SCENE ANALYST SAYS GUNSHOT RESIDUE MAY HOLD THE ANSWER.”
CBS’ press release confirmed that the next, new episode 29 of 48 Hours’ current season 37 is indeed scheduled to make its way to your TV screens tonight, May 4, 2024, starting at approximately 9 pm central standard time. It will also be available for streaming on Paramount+. This episode will be a 1-hour event. So, expect it to wrap up at 10 pm central standard time.
