48 Hours July 27, 2024 Episode Not New. It’s A Repeat. Preview Revealed
Hey, “48 Hours” fans. We’re back to let you know that another repeat episode of CBS’ 48 Hours will show up tonight, July 27, 2024. As previously reported, we’re just getting repeat episodes until the new season starts up this fall.
Actually, we do have an official date for the premiere of the new season. It is September 21, 2024. So, be sure to mark that date down on your calendars. In the meantime, we do have some preview information for tonight’s repeat episode for any of you who missed it during its first airing.
CBS served up an official, revised press release for this repeat episode. So, let’s dive straight into it. Tonight’s repeat episode is officially titled, “Stephen Smith — A Death in Murdaugh Country.” It originally aired back on November 25, 2023.
In tonight’s repeat episode, the 48 Hours team took a deep look at a story about a gay man named Stephen Smith. He was only 19 years old, and he turned up dead back in 2015. His death was ruled as a hit-and-run by the medical examiner, but Stephen’s mother didn’t believe it ,and she demanded a second opinion until a new investigation was opened up.
CBS’ official description for tonight’s repeat episode of 48 Hours reads like this, “Years before South Carolina legal scion Alex Murdaugh was convicted for the murders of his wife and son, there was another mystery in Murdaugh country – the death of Stephen Smith, a 19-year-old gay man.
After his body was found on a country road on July 8, 2015, the medical examiner ruled it a hit-and-run. For years, Stephen’s mother, Sandy Smith, wanted a second opinion. 48 HOURS reports on a new investigation into the case in an encore of 48 HOURS: “Stephen Smith – A Death in Murdaugh Country.”
CBS’ press release confirmed that 48 Hours is showing up with a repeat episode again tonight, July 27, 2024,and it will start at approximately 9 pm central standard time. It will also be available for streaming on Paramount+. This repeat episode will be a 1-hour event. So, expect it to wrap up at 10 pm central standard time.
