The Bachelorette July 29, 2024 Eliminated Sam N (Recap)
Hey, Bachelor Nation fans. Tonight, July 29, 2024, another new episode of The Bachelorette 2024 edition with headliner Jenn Tran hit the air, and we saw some very interesting stuff take place at the end of this one.
Tonight’s new episode kicked off with Jenn and her remaining guys showing up in Auckland, New Zealand to continue their journey of love. The men met up with Jenn. After a little conversation, Jenn told them that she selected Sam M for a 1 on 1 date. So, off they went.
Jenn took Sam M to the top of the huge Auckland Skytower. The waiter offered them the opportunity to do a skywalk jump, which is basically a bungee jump off the tower. Sam M immediately agreed to do it, but Jenn was not on board at first.
Jenn told the private cams, “Sam M’s not reading my emotions very well. He’s not really understanding how I’m feeling right now.” At one point, Jenn started crying about possibly doing this jump. So, Sam told her not to do it. “It’s ok,” he said. Jenn told the private cams, “Once Sam saw how scared I really was, he eventually showed up for me.” Once Sam did that, Jenn said she felt more safe and went ahead and did the jump.
During the second half of their date, Jenn and Sam M talked over dinner. He told her, “As long as I have the right person in my life, nothing else matters. Real love doesn’t fade to me.” Jenn told him, “I’ve been afraid because my parents weren’t the best example of a loving relationship. I felt like I wasn’t deserving or worthy.”
Sam told her, “You’re deserving. You’re worth of it.” Sam told Jenn about a past relationship he had. The woman cheated on him, and he got really broken up over it. Sam M said, “There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for someone I love.” Jenn told the private cams, “Sam M really understands what a true partnership is all about.” She gave him a rose, and they kissed. Jenn told the private cams, “I’m falling for Sam. He’s someone I can see a future with.
After all of that, Jenn took: Spencer, Marcus, Grant, John M., Austin, Jonathon, Dylan, Thomas, Jeremy, and Sam N. out on a group date. They went to the North Harbour Stadium to play a game of Rugby. After some training, they were split into two teams to play an event called the “Rugby Royale.” The winning team got to spend more time with Jenn at the afterparty.
At the afterparty, Jenn talked with Sam N. He told her, “This was the best group date of my life.” Jenn said, “You seemed like you were having the best time.” He told her,”My entire focus is on you.” Jenn said, “I want to understand you more. I appreciate you.”
Jenn talked with Jonathon. They they played catch with some Lacrosse sticks, and they eventually kissed. Jenn talked with Grant. He told her, “I wanna fight for my woman.” Jenn told her, “I feel like you would do anything for me, and I love that,” and they kissed. Jenn told the private cams,”I always have a spark with Grant.”
Jenn talked with Marcus. She asked him about an injury he acquired in the rugby game. She told him, “I want to be here for you even with the little things.” Marcus told her, “I have issues with people feeling bad for me.” Jenn said, “Well, just let me know. I’m willing to help you,” and they hugged.
At this point, the other guys started saying they had a problem with Sam N being too selfish, and they let him know. Sam N told the private cams, “These guys are losing composure.” Thomas N tried to pull Sam N. aside for a talk. Sam N said, “I don’t want to talk to you. You should be talking with Jen right now! Why are you wasting your time with me?”
Jenn talked with Thomas N. He talked with her about his parents heritage and background. Then, Sam N came in and very rudely interrupted them. Thomas N said, “Can I have 5 more minutes.” Sam N said, “No.” So, Thomas left really ticked off. Jenn told Thomas, “We’ll talk more later.”
Sam N told Jenn, “I don’t give a f^*k about the other guys. I know I’m walking on egg shells with them. I really wanna take our relationship to the next step. Can I kiss you?” Jenn told him, “I don’t know if I can see us getting there. I don’t think I’m the right person for you right now.” Sam N said, “I appreciate you telling me that. I know that took a lot to say.” Then, Jenn walked him out to his exit car. Sam N told the private cams, “I’m leaving here confused.” Jenn gave Marcus the group date rose.
Next, Jenn took Devin out on a 1 on 1 date. They went to explore New Zealand’s Maori culture. They had a group session with the natives there. Jenn told the private cams that she was impressed with Devin’s introduction speech to them. She learned a lot about where he’s from and his childhood.
During the second half of their date, they talked over dinner. Devin talked about how he had issues with his dad growing up. He said, “My dad was around, but not really. My parents moved around a lot. So, I always had this feeling of instability. My mom took care of me better than any father figure I ever had.”
Jenn told the private cams, “Devin’s story really touched my heart. We have a unique connection.” She told Devin, “My mom had the same issues with my father. My father stopped being present in my life. He didn’t even know my birthday. He ultimately decided not to talk to me ever again.”
Devin said,”I can only imagine how that makes you feel. We are very similar.” Devin told Jenn, “I’m falling for you. You’re an amazing woman.” Jenn told the private cams, “I’ve never felt more appreciated than with Devin.” Jenn told Devin, “I’m excited to see what’s to come for us.” She gave Devin a rose, and they kissed.
At this point, host Jesse Palmer said a guy from Jenn’s past has flown across the world to speak with her, and Jenn has no idea he’s here. His name is Matt. Matt told Jesse, “Jenn and I dated in the past, and I felt like I just couldn’t let her go. I want to see if there is a future for us.” Then, they took him to go talk to Jenn. When Jenn saw him, she immediately said, “Why are you here right now? What?”
Matt told Jenn, “I didn’t feel the same without you. I’m not ready to let you go without letting you know how I feel about you.” Jenn told him, “I feel like all of this is coming out of nowhere.” Matt said, “You know me better than anyone else, and I’m not ready to let you go. I really care strongly for you. I really do love you.”
Jenn said, “I’m just really confused right now.” Matt said, “I would love to join this season and prove how strongly I care for you.” Jenn told the private cams, “This confuses me, and I’m afraid of how the other guys might feel about this, but I do know Michael more than any of the guys here, and I do care about him.” At this point, we got the “To Be Continued” message. So, we’ll see how this madness plays out in next week’s new episode.
We know from the preview clip ABC showed, Jenn tells the other guys she’s considering bringing Michael on. So, that will certainly be an interesting scenario next week.
