Dancing With The Stars October 7 & 8 Episodes Preview Reveal Soul Train, Rock & More
Hey, “Dancing With The Stars” fans. We’re back in your faces with some super great news for you because ABC is airing two, new episodes of Dancing With The Stars’ current season 33 this week. The next, new episode 3 is airing tonight, October 7, 2024, and the new episode 4 will air tomorrow night, October 8, 2024.
As we previously reported, ABC is airing the new episode 3 tonight to make up for not airing it last Tuesday night, October 1, 2024, due to their LIVE coverage of the 2024 Vice Presidential debate. We’ve got new preview information for both of these episodes via ABC’s official press releases. So, we’re going to dive into those right now, starting with tonight’s new episode 3. Let’s go.
The theme for tonight’s new episode 3 is “Soul Train Night.” That means you guys are going to see the remaining 11 couples serve up performances that are worthy of being shown on the iconic dance show Soul Train. There will also be a guest judge on tonight, which is Emmy Award nominee actress and former featured dancer on Soul Train Rosie Perez.
There’s going to be an opening number, featuring guest dancer and Soul Train alum Popin Pete of The Electric Boogaloos. Judge Derek Hough will serve up a special master class segment at some point. After all of tonight’s performances are wrapped up, the fans will get to cast their votes for their favorite couples online. Tonight’s votes will be combined with tomorrow night’s October 8, 2024 votes to reveal who gets eliminated and who sticks around.
ABC’s official description for tonight’s new episode 3 reads like this, “All aboard the Funk Express! The remaining 11 couples get their groove on with performances worthy of being seen on the iconic musical variety television show “Soul Train.” “Soul Train Night” airs on a special night as part of a two-night event beginning MONDAY, OCT. 7.
The night will start with a soulful opening number to “T.S.O.P. (The Sound Of Philadelphia)” by MFSB featuring The Three Degrees, choreographed by Luam and featuring guest dancer and “Soul Train” alum Popin Pete of The Electric Boogaloos. Partner dances to include the Rumba, Jive, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz and Quickstep. For the first time this season, judge Derek Hough will provide his expert insights, tips and tricks during a master class centered around the classic hit “Get Down On It” by Kool & the Gang.
Fans will be able to vote during the broadcast of the show in the ET/CT time zones. During this time, online voting will be available to fans in any time zone in the U.S., its territories and Canada via dwtsvote.abc.com, and fans on participating U.S. wireless carriers can also vote via SMS/text (fans in Canada cannot vote via SMS/text). Viewer votes from both nights of competition will be combined with the judges’ scores from both nights to determine which couples may be in jeopardy of elimination on Tuesday, Oct. 8.”
An alternate description tells us, “Dancing With the Stars’ Kicks Off Back-to-Back Episodes With Rhythm and Grooves on ‘Soul Train Night’ on Oct. 7 With Guest Judge, Academy and Emmy Award Nominee and Featured Dancer on ‘Soul Train,’ Rosie Perez.”
ABC’s press release also revealed the dances that the couples will perform in tonight’s new episode 3. Danny Amendola and pro Witney Carson will perform a Foxtrot to “Dancing Machine” by Jackson 5. Joey Graziadei and pro Jenna Johnson will perform a Jive to “Shout” by The Isley Brothers.
Dwight Howard and pro Daniella Karagach will perform a Cha Cha to “Let’s Groove” by Earth, Wind & Fire. Chandler Kinney and pro Brandon Armstrong will perform a Cha Cha to “It’s Tricky” by Run-DMC.
Ilona Maher and pro Alan Bersten will perform a Foxtrot to “Lady Marmalade” by LaBelle.
Brooks Nader and pro Gleb Savchenko will perform a Rumba to “Sexual Healing” by Marvin Gaye. Stephen Nedoroscik and pro Rylee Arnold will perform a Quickstep to “Superstition” by Stevie Wonder. Phaedra Parks and pro Val Chmerkovskiy will perform a Quickstep to “Think” by Aretha Franklin.
Eric Roberts and pro Britt Stewart will perform a Foxtrot to “Let’s Stay Together” by Al Green. Jenn Tran and pro Sasha Farber will perform a Viennese Waltz to “Fallin’” by Alicia Keys. Reginald VelJohnson and pro Emma Slater will perform a Foxtrot to “I Can See Clearly Now” by Johnny Nash.
The theme for tomorrow night’s new, October 8, 2024 episode is, “Hair Metal Night.” In it, you guys will see the remaining 11 couples get back on the stage to perform dances to classic rock songs. There will be another special guest judge for this episode, which is Gene Simmons of the classic KISS rock band.
There will be a special opening number to the song, “Rock And Roll All Nite” by KISS. It will feature Whitesnake guitarist Joel Hoekstra. There will also be another master class segment with judge Derek Hough, which is centered around lifts and tricks.
After all the performances are wrapped up, the fans will get to cast their votes for their favorite performances of this episode. Then, those votes will be combined with the votes for the October 7, 2024 episode to determine who gets eliminated.
ABC’s official description for tomorrow night’s new episode 4 reads like this, “It’s time to turn up the volume on the ballroom floor. The 11 remaining couples bring iconic rock anthems to life, alongside guest judge, rock ‘n’ roll superstar Gene Simmons of KISS when “Hair Metal Night” premieres TUESDAY, OCT. 8.
The night kicks off with a headbanging opening number to “Rock And Roll All Nite” by KISS, featuring guitarist Joel Hoekstra from Whitesnake and choreographed by Pasha Pashkov. Partner dances to include the Paso Doble, Cha Cha, Jive, Foxtrot and Tango. Judge Derek Hough will again provide his expert insights during a master class centered around lifts and tricks.
Fans will be able to vote during the live simulcast of the show in the ET/CT time zones. During this time, online voting will be available to fans in any time zone in the U.S., its territories and Canada via dwtsvote.abc.com, and fans on participating U.S. wireless carriers can also vote via SMS/text (fans in Canada cannot vote via SMS/text). Live viewer votes from the week’s two nights of competition will be combined with the judges’ scores from both nights to determine who may be in jeopardy of elimination.”
ABC’s episode 4 press release also revealed which dances the couples will perform for Hair Metal theme. Danny Amendola and pro Witney Carson will perform a Paso Doble to “Livin’ On A Prayer” by Bon Jovi. Joey Graziadei and pro Jenna Johnson will perform a Tango to “Rock You Like A Hurricane” by Scorpions.
Dwight Howard and pro Daniella Karagach will perform a Paso Doble to “Walk This Way” by Aerosmith. Chandler Kinney and pro Brandon Armstrong will perform a Jive to “We’re Not Gonna Take It” by Twisted Sister. Ilona Maher and pro Alan Bersten will perform a Jive to “Cum On Feel the Noize” by Quiet Riot.
Brooks Nader and pro Gleb Savchenko will perform a Cha Cha to “Nothin’ But A Good Time” by Poison. Stephen Nedoroscik and pro Rylee Arnold will perform a Foxtrot to “Here I Go Again” by Whitesnake. Phaedra Parks and pro Val Chmerkovskiy will perform a Paso Doble to “You Give Love A Bad Name” by Bon Jovi.
Eric Roberts and pro Britt Stewart will perform a Paso Doble to “Cherry Pie” by Warrant. Jenn Tran and pro Sasha Farber will perform a Paso Doble to “The Final Countdown” by Europe. Reginald VelJohnson and pro Emma Slater will perform a Cha Cha to “I Wanna Rock” by Twisted Sister.
Again, ABC’s press release confirmed that Dancing With The Stars is showing up with new a episode tonight, October 7, 2024, and tomorrow night, October 8, 2024. They will both start in the 7 pm central standard time slot and wrap up at 9 pm central time.
