New The Penguin Season 2 Is Still In Question. HBO Hasn’t Renewed It Yet
Hey, “The Penguin” fans. We hope you guys totally enjoyed tonight’s episode 8, especially since it was indeed the very last episode of this current, premiere season 1. That means you will not see another new episode of The Penguin for at least a really long time and possibly forever since we don’t have any official confirmation from the HBO/MAX people for a new season 2.
Yep, guys. Unfortunately, we cannot tell you if there will be a new season 2 of The Penguin in this article. All we can do is just tell you to cross your fingers and hope for the best.
Actually, we are hearing from the folks over at Superherohype that the showrunner for The Penguin Lauren LeFranc is interested in doing a new season if they feel they can top what they did in season 1. If she doesn’t feel like that, they won’t do it.
Lauren stated, “We need to feel like we can top ourselves. I think that in order to do a second season, we have to feel like we can top ourselves. We have to feel like there’s something more there to really dig into. I mean, I really care about all these characters, even if they’re terrible people. I’d love to keep playing. It just has to be the right thing. We should never do anything just to do it.”
It’s reported that The Penguin has drawn in big ratings and viewership numbers for HBO. The premiere episode reportedly drew in over 5 million viewers, and over 14 million viewers in six weeks. So, we think HBO would probably be on board to renew the show if the showrunner wants to do it. For now, we’ll just have to wait and see.
