New Superman & Lois Season 5 Not Happening. The CW Canceled It
Hey, “Superman & Lois” fans. We hope you guys totally enjoyed tonight’s episode 10, especially since it was indeed both the season and series finale episode of this 4th season. Yep, that means you guys will sadly never see another new episode of Superman & Lois ever again.
According to the folks over at bamsmackpow.com , the president of The CW network Brad Schwartz revealed that The CW decided to cancel Superman & Lois due to it possibly competing with the new Superman movie that’s coming out in 2025 by James Gunn. He stated, “They don’t want a competing Superman product in the marketplace.”
According to the LIVE Nielsen ratings, Superman & Lois season 4 averaged 450,000 LIVE viewers per episode, and a 0.06 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics. The most recent episode 9, which aired last Monday night, November 25, 2024 managed to draw in 501,000 LIVE viewers, and a 0.06 ratings score.
The most viewed episode was episode 6 with 508,000 LIVE viewers. The least-viewed episode was episode 8 with 354,000 LIVE viewers. The highest-rated episodes were episodes 6 and 7. They both tied for first place with a 0.08 ratings score. The lowest-rated episode was episode 4 with a 0.04 ratings score.
Those numbers seemed pretty average for that network. We can certainly see why there was no real fight to keep it around for a new season 5. If those numbers were more impressive, maybe there would have been more of a fight. Who knows? All we do know is they apparently didn’t have any problem ditching this Superman & Lois TV show to make way for one Superman movie that is set to release in 2025.
