Saturday Night LIVE February 16 To Air New, Special LIVE 50th Anniversary Episode
According to the people over at TV Guide, NBC is scheduled to air a special, new Saturday Night LIVE episode tonight, February 16, 2025. This special episode is going to celebrate the very long, 50 years that the show has been on the air.
The information that TV Guide is giving us says that this LIVE, special episode event will kick off in the 6 pm central standard time slot with a special, red carpet segment. This segment will air until 7 pm central time. We’re assuming it will feature a lot of stars showing up to walk the red carpet and get settled in for the main episode event.
TV Guide’s official description for this Saturday Night LIVE 50th Anniversary Red Carpet Event reads like this, “SNL50: The Red Carpet Live. An unforgettable, star-studded celebration of comedy and culture that honors five decades of the iconic late-night sketch comedy show live from New York.”
After the red carpet special, the main show will start up in the 7 pm central time slot and last all the way until 10:15 pm. It’s going to feature special musical performances. Former castmembers are going to show up. Some special guests will appear along with a favorite sketches segment.
From what we saw in a promo clip for this episode, some of the former castmembers will include: Eddie Murphy, Kristen Wiig, Garret Morris, Amy Poehler, Jimmy Fallon, Fred Armisen, Molly Shannon, Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell, Maya Rudolph, Jane Curtin, Tina Fey, Tracy Morgan, Pete Davidson, Will Forte, Chevy Chase, Kate McKinnon, Chris Rock, Andy Samberg, Kenan Thompson, Seth Myer, LaRaine Newman and Jason Sudeikis. So, that does sound like an amazing former castmember list .
TV Guide’s official description for this LIVE SNL 50th Anniversary special reads like this, “Saturday Night Live. SNL50: The Anniversary Special. The award-winning sketch show celebrates its groundbreaking 50th anniversary live from New York, featuring musical performances, former cast members, special guests and all-time favorite sketches.”
NBC’s official description for it reads like this, “SNL50: THE ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL will air live from Studio 8H in Rockefeller Center on NBC and simulcast on Peacock.
The special will celebrate the 50th anniversary of SNL with legendary stars, live musical performances and iconic sketches during an unmissable three-hour primetime event.”
Again, it’s been confirmed by TV Guide and NBC that a new Saturday Night LIVE 50th Anniversary Special is scheduled to hit the air tonight, February 16, 2025, starting at approximately 6 pm central standard time on NBC. It will be a 4-hour event. So, expect it to wrap up at 10:15 pm central standard time.
